Creative youth

Creativity is part of the human nature and Nigeria youth are not short of it. This was the belief of Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Opeyemi Awolusi, of Cryptanalysis who spoke at the event tagged: "Creative Leadership and Entrepreneurship: Unlocking Business Potential" in Lagos. Awolusi said that there was a need for greater exposure for young people into business for them to show their creative abilities.

He noted that what made young people creative are their ideas, optimism and resilience. "Our young people have plenty of ideas, but they do not have exposure, or even a quick look from older people," he said. He challenged the audience to be more creative and also make value addition to their ideas instead of just coming up with improvisations.

"I challenge you not to do just improvisations but create value additions to your ideas," he said.

The event was organised by Pacific World Consult with support from the British High Commission. The panel discussion which had speakers drawn from the academia, corporate organisations and the entertainment industry was moderated by Tade Ogidan.

The Nigeria youth are creative, productive and resourceful. I personally have seen creatives dream, design, develop and deliver solutions to problems that affect them.

The problem is that the Nigerian government has failed to produce a system that gives young people a chance to show their talents and be rewarded.

Dropping out of school is not a ludicrious option when you have no other options.

The Nigerian government should create an environment where young Nigerians can thrive and prosper. The beauty of cryptocurrency and Blockchain are the possibilities that it opens up for us when we can use this new technology to create solutions to help our communities without depending on government. I am a firm believer that if you can code better than you can vote better.
