Went out early one day on the last day of April.
To help out at the games.
Checked out the site before work.
There were cars sponsors.
I was helping out at the registration desk.
The sun was just rising as the first players came in to register.
I had to make sure I didn't sit on this little guy as I looked for a place to sit a bit.
The cars looked nice after sun rise.
This was where the players entered the courts. I met quite a few people I know including a fellow blogger from Malaysia.
Lunch was simple.
I saw some nice pickleball glasses.
There was a rest area for the players.

My friend who was driving home decided to go to Lorong 8 Toa Payoh for dinner. Saw a porridge stall which used to operate only in the morning and early afternoon. Seemed to be a new operator/owner.
Decided to go to another stall which I wanted to try the fried bee hoon for a long time since knowing they operated 24 hours.
Picked just a few items with the noodle and was quite happy with it.

前段时间在俱乐部打匹克球，一直打到晚上八点多。

Stopped by McDonald's for a quick dinner before going to St. Gabriel's secondary school.
Walked towards the school and saw it.
Crossed the road and went to the side passing by a children's playground.
Then passed by an exercise corner.
Reached the road near the back gate.
Going in via Gate 4 to go to the Indoor Sports Hall. Climbed some stairs before I reach the hall where I'd be playing pickleball against the old boys' association of the school.
There are four courts inside the hall and some people have started to warm up. We have toilets by the side and also water dispenser. AED at one corner.
I tooked a selfie.
Took some pictures of other people warming up.
Was given a team t-shirt so I took another selfie.
We were using only one court for the friendly games. I won the two set of games I played so was happy with the result.

去麦当劳吃了顿简单的晚餐，然后去圣加俾尔中学。
走向学校，看到了它。
过马路，绕到路边，经过一个儿童游乐场。
然后经过一个锻炼角落。
到了靠近后门的路边。
从4号登机口进入室内体育馆。 爬了几段楼梯，才到达大厅，那里我将与圣加俾尔中学校旧校友打匹克球。
大厅内有四个球场，一些人已经开始热身。我们旁边有厕所和饮水机。AED在一个角落。
我自拍了一张。
拍了些其他人热身的照片。
拿到一件队友T恤所以又自拍了一张。
我们只用一个球场来进行友谊赛。我赢了两局，对结果很满意。

The courts were just set up in the exhibition hall on the raw concrete floor.
There was a minibar.
Nice sitting area with chairs and tables.
There were three courts.
Played a game with side out scoring.
Went to check out the snacks and drinks.
The cup and saucer were very nice.
There was even beer.
I went to get a coffee.
Then played a few more games before I left.

We bought three of the bigger D13. They have quite a lot of prepack ones.

The guy vacuum packed the durians.
It looked safe enough to go into public transport, but I was driving away with these and they didn't leave any odor in the car.

The smell and the durian came out only after lifting the seal.

I was there on a Thursday morning earlier than the last time I went. There was no queue outside.
However, it was still quite crowded inside.
Trying to look around for pickle ball shoes.
There were clothes and accessories.
Lots of shoes but didn't find any pickleball shoes.
There were two pairs at the Lucky Size $30 wagon.
Took size 8.5 and gave up size 8.
During the hourly special, they were showing a pair of woman pickleball shoes for size 5.
I asked around in a chat group and bought a pair for my friend.
Still no long queue for payment then.
Paid $30 for each pair. Good deal.

Recently, was shopping for a 3rd pair of pickleballl shoes. Went from on Skechers store at Suntec City to another one at Bugis Junction.
Failed to find it at Suntec City and decided to go to the one at Bugis Junction.
That one was quite a big store.
I found the black coloured pair which I wanted and tried them on.
The other ones were more white and different colour.
I used the discount voucher which was expiring on that day for 20% discount.
Then bagged the shoes home. Now, I have 3 pairs of pickleball shoes.

Went to Singapore swimming club to play friendly pickleball games against them sometime back.
Walked in via the car park and went to the end to get out.
Saw the courts outside and went down.
Walked through their pool side café.
Then reached the children's playground outside the courts. The courts were nice.
Went to the toilet first passing by the swimming pool.
Then went into the court.
We started warming up. Played three games but didn't play as good as I hoped for.
Still happy enough for the opportunity to play at the nice courts there.

Went for late lunch at Lorong 5 Toa Payoh on Sunday. It wasn't crowded by the time I got there.
Went to food stall selling mainly soup.
Decided to get a soup for myself and curry chicken for my wife.
$12.70 for the meal with brown rice for me and white rice for the lady. Overall, the meal was okay but felt the curry could be better.

星期天下午晚些时候去了大巴窑5巷吃午饭。到的时候人不多。

Took a bus to Farrer Park to play pickleball.
Luckily, the rain stopped when I reached. I went in and headed to court number 4.
Played about an hour at the court before moving to court number 5. The next court was better as there was less glare from outside. It's good that we now have a water dispenser at the place.

坐公车去了花拉公园打匹克球。
幸运的是，我到的时候雨停了。我进去后直接去了4号球场。

Pickleball Tournament on Good Friday
Went to play a pickleball tournament on Good Friday. After getting off at Havelock MRT station, went into Holiday Inn. Then out to the courts which are nice but still super hot at about 3.30pm registration time.
After registration, had to wait till 5pm for my first match.
There was free drinks to redeem from a vending machine. You can buy balls from it too.
Not a lot of space at all sides. Luckily we have more shade by the time I started my first match.
Lost the games in the first round but was fun enough to be able to play against a mixed doubles team, a men's doubles team and a women's doubles team all in the same tournament.
Two teams in our group made it to semis and one took the bronze.

耶稣受难日那天去参加了一个匹克球锦标赛。从合乐地铁站下车后，我去了假日酒店。然后去了球场，球场很不错，但是下午3点半左右登记的时候还是很热。
登记之后，我一直等到下午5点才开始我的第一场比赛。
自动售货机里有免费饮料可以兑换，也可以在那里买球。
球场四周空间不多。幸运的是，当我开始第一场比赛的时候，我们找到了更多阴凉的地方。
第一轮比赛输了，但是能够在同一个比赛了和混双、男双和女双三支队伍同场竞技，感觉还是很有意思的。
我们组有两支队伍进入了半决赛，其中一支获得了铜牌。

Went out early on Sunday morning to take a bus to Tampines.
Arrived at Our Tampines Hub early.
Went to the third floor and registered.
Then went into the hall. Went to toilet then waited for the Taiji Marathon to begin.

After every hour, we were allowed to have 5 minutes toilet break.
Still it was tiring to continue for 6 hours with only hourly 5 minutes break.
A lot of people stayed throughout the 6 hours.
The event ended after 6 hours.
There was a lucky draw in the end of event.

Skipped the usual taichi practice on Saturday morning because I had to attend a event Sunday. So I did the household chores on Saturday morning before going to Our Tampines Hub.
I was there to collect a t-shirt for the Sunday event.
The queue was long at the 4th floor.
However, they were quite organised and I got my t-shirt soon.
Went to 3rd floor to make sure I know the place I would be going to on Sunday.
After a coffee at the food centre below, I went to the club to play some pickleball.
Didn't want to tire myself before the Sunday event but still played 9 games before it started to drizzle a bit.
Then I left and it rained at a place near home earlier and I had my dinner there.
