Dang... my old life insurance advisor passed away a while back and it looks like his number has been re-assigned... possibly to a crypto-scammer. What a disappointment

@abraxas

Oh snap, it's April 30th. Happy Hexennacht! 6 more months until Halloween :D

@abraxas

Park hopping with the boys today. The weather's been too good!

@abraxas

Anybody else gauge the +/- on their drive to work based on how far through their playlist they are? 😂

@abraxas

Boundaries and consent are some of the most important things you can get from somebody. They make it clear how a person is receptive of you and the best way you can respect somebody is to respect the rules that they have set. It's really gross when you try to lay down fair rules so you don't totally break somebody, and they constantly try to push their way beyond those rules and overstep every chance they get. I don't get why people feel they have the right to do this. It can be very jarring to the person you are abusing and is a great way to lose them forever. Especially when they try to give you a second chance. In any case, bye Felicia. You'd know who you were, but you're blocked so you won't even see this. Glad that drama is gone. If you can see this, you know it's not about you 🙃♥️

@abraxas

Oh hey, remember that time Noise broken? I was worried I was gonna miss all your beautiful faces haha. Glad things are back up again. I hope if Noise ever comes to an end, we're given some time to get proper closure and say our goodbyes. I love you all, though maybe some more than others lol.

@abraxas

Yeah, this sucks :( I hope it's not the end, but nice meeting you if it is. GL with the pokemon collection and job hunt!

@abraxas

This sucks :(. I hope it's not the end, but it's been a good run. Nice meeting you - I'll have to follow you on YouTube I guess lol

@abraxas

Noise is broken, but your stuff still shows up in the notifs... don't type anything stupid lol

@abraxas

Somebody challenged me to come up with a design for "BeastyBaby". This was the best I could do lol edit: I wasn't sure if they wanted me to say who they were. It was @Chikspere13 that gavee the challenge

@abraxas

Worked on another sweater design yesterday. It's still a bit rough, but I think I'm getting somewhere with this lol

@abraxas

Need a cool company name... This could make a really badass hoodie🤔

@abraxas

This might make a cool sticker or something. I didn't draw the skull, it came with some art resources I bought a while back

@abraxas

Heh, been hanging out in a community I haven't visited in some time... Enjoy these dank FANSI memes I made a few years back 😂

Been away from here for a bit. Nothing much new - got the new (to me) computer set up. Had to buy a new Win10 Pro license (uggghhh) because apparently the free upgrade license from Win 7 was non-transferrable. Ah well, this computer will hopefully last me some time like the last one did. Now to (finally) get my taxes done.

@abraxas

Got my "new" (hand-me-down) PC from my bro today. Now to back up what I need and switch things over. I think I'll repurpose this one as a media server when I get a chance.

@abraxas

Today was a better day. Spent an hour or two tonight clearing off my computer desk and working on some much needed cable management. I've got a lot going on between my computer, audio devices, and retro gaming stuff lol. It's still a mess, but it's WAY better than it was

@abraxas

Had an absolutely awesome day today, totally crushed by family problems. This sucks. Why can't I just live in my office? Some days I think life would be better lol.

@abraxas

Ok, so it's not an album, but rather a setlist/mix... This Darkwave set by Yami Spechie has been my soundtrack for this week. If you're into gothic 80s synth sound, you'll appreciate this one. Dark Wave, New Wave, Post Punk (Dance Mix ll) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opxGyrZavd8 Sorry for dropping the ball on #FullAlbumFridays. I think I should just kinda retire it. It had a good run, but since being back in the office, I'm more tired than ever - and not really having access to Noise other than on my phone, it's too hard to keep up with the idea lol.

@abraxas

Nerdlinging was a great success! Got it all wired up, and frankencoded the project I needed. Not totally sold on the temp sensor - it seems to only output whole degrees. I'll have to dig into the library later to figure out if there's a way to get more sensitive results. Essentially, it grabs the temperature and humidity of the room, then it lights up an LED each time it refreshes - the colour of the LED is determined by which range the temp falls into. It also outputs that data to the LCD panel. Wiring that component up was interesting to say the least. The documentation I had didn't work at all. And most of the ones I found online needed a potentiometer. I was able to rig something up in TinkerCAD and got it working there... but I needed to find a way to get it going without the pot... All it took was ground wire to the pin instead. I have a feeling that a lot of the tutorials that these schematics were forked from used the LCD to display the value of the potentiometer resistance... but they just had the screen displaying "Hello World" lol. So dumb that none of them thought to just ground the pin instead 🤷🏻‍♂️ I also swapped out the suggested 10K resistor for a 1K resistor, as the screen was ridiculously dim, otherwise.

@abraxas

I was so knackered last night that I ended up in bed before midnight lmao. Got some nerd plans for tonight that I'm looking forward to diving into in a bit. I know what I want, I know what I have, but I'm not quite sure how to code it and wire it all up. I'm gonna figure it out, though!

@abraxas

I cannot get enough of this tune 😍. It takes heavy influence from 80s synth pop and modern darkwave. Light Asylum - Dark Allies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNiKCRUpbqA The official music video for it is fantastic too, though the world has some kinda beef against the naked female chest, and despite the video being (in my opinion) art, I suspect that it probably wouldn't fly well with Noise's TOS, so I can't share it. Light Asylum are a 2 piece band out of New York - Shannon Funchess and Bruno Coviello. Shannon's Vocals are on fucking point, too. I honestly can't get enough of this band! #Music

@abraxas

Oh snap, I totally missed it - my 1 year on Noise was the 15th lol. WOO!

@abraxas

...Continued... Then yesterday I got more mail! Shadowgate 64! I was stoked to play it. I love the shit out of this series - the NES version has been one of my fave games since I was a kid. I'm also 9th place on the Speedrun charts for it lol. I was really looking forward to playing this one yesterday, but I was so tired I ended up crashing around midnight. So I'm gonna pop it in and give it a play tonight instead. In other news, the guy that sits in the cubicle attached to mine tested positive for COVID today. He was in my cubicle a few times yesterday as we had to discuss some union stuff... So I'm hoping that I don't come down with it too, but we'll see... 😬😬😬 Um, other than that not a whole lot is up lol. I finally finished the Squirtle cross stitch that I started like last year, and started my next one. Now that I'm in the office, I have more time for handicrafts lol. My cubicle is pretty nicely personalized, too. A few people have said they love it lol

@abraxas

What a wild few days lol. Too many notifications to go through, and probably still some missed. So, where have I been? lol Tuesday I got a Kickstarter that I backed like two years ago. It came in an absolute behemoth of a box, and in it is one of the most rad board games I've played to date AND it has a Solo mode! :O RETURN TO DARK TOWER! There were three boxes inside the main shipping box: Box one was the base game Box two was two layers of plastic minis to replace the cardboard tokens that represent the minis Box Three was an add-on that I haven't even touched yet. The game is augmented by a mobile app that controls the tower unit, handles events, and tells you where to place enemies. And the game packs away so nicely! I can't even get over the quality of the game, but also the thought put into making it easy to pack up after. This one's probably not going to be cheap when it drops in retail stores, but if you can afford it I say hands-down, go for it! ...to be continued...

@abraxas

So I've come up with a pretty decent setup for my consoles. So far it seems pretty good. Despite all the hops and conversions, I'm playing on my CRT with 0 lag. This is pretty hilarious with the number of steps it takes just to play the game on a TV, since w/o the stream I'd literally just be hooking the console straight to the TV 😂

@abraxas

Re-upload. Removed a layer of grit - I think I like this one better, but let me know what you guys think! A or B "Watching the Heartrise over the Horizon"
