11-11 @ 11:00 AM we observe a moment of silence on Remembrance Day in Canada. While the date marks the end of World War 1, the silence is spent remembering all of the fallen and injured soldiers in the various wars. Lest we forget.

WWI was atrocious. I've heard the battles there referred to as "meat grinders", and that gruesome image seems as good a description of them as any. How those men in those trenches survived day by day, knowing that they were more than likely going home in a box, is beyond me.
