Our elders are no longer correct about something.
They told us to get formally educated, get a good job, commit to years of mortgage, then only retire with freedom after years of slogging at work.
That life was necessary back in the days where entrepreneurial opportunities weren’t so abundant.
Did you know, the factory owners invented the schooling system during the industrialisation age?
They were grooming a pipeline of obedient future workers.
They needed the workforce, to further their capitalistic pursuits.
As a result, fast forward today, our lives are typically uninteresting.
This is by designed — as we are given enough incentive to build just a comfortable life, but not too comfortable.
Why? Because the system only works if we need the job.
And the job offers security and stability.
I think you deserve to be free, especially in this day and age.
Today, the barrier of entry to live a free life has never been lower.
Covid-19 is showing us that our job is not that secured after all.
The plus side is, we are now discovering that most of our tasks can be done remotely.
Honestly, the Internet is amazingly under-utilised by many of us.
Instead of being a consumer of the Internet, try be an active producer, leveraging the Internet.
Produce content and you can monetise them on blogging platforms, social media accounts, youtube channels, etc.
Deliver services like virtual assistance, translations, customer service, web development, digital marketing and get paid remotely, of a stronger foreign currency.
Create your own intellectual properties like an e-book, guides, online course and sell or license them online 100%
Curate collections of physical products you love and help promote them to the right buyers through dropshipping or e-commerce.
The entrepreneurial opportunities are endless.
Unlike yesterday, now you have everything at your disposal to pursue your own little capitalistic journey.
Take charge of your own income and escape from your career-cage deal.
It’s time to get paid of being you.
I might commit some generalisation in this piece. Of course, there are exceptions, so please don’t take my words as face value.
