@a2j

I've just joined and will slowly figure out how to use this site. Hopefully this will be a way to relax and read some interesting short reads and post some interesting thoughts.

@a2j

I just joined the site and have a couple of queries. I am using Brave Browser on my mobile (android). 1. How do I upload pictures to my posts? I don't seem to see that option at all! 2. How do I post to a particular channel? Is it by posting in that particular channel page or is there any other way. Thanks in advance for being patient with a newbie.

@a2j

'Soil Mates' I was walking past a house in our residential flats and saw a set of interesting plants nearly arranged outside their door which made the entrance look beautiful. It had some nice plants and each 'pot' was wrapped in handwritten notes. This little quote with a word play thrown it 'Soil Mates' caught my attention. Plants certainly are our soul mates and our soil mates.

@a2j

The sunrise every day peers into my window from mountains. Today it was super bright and made the morning warm. But I know will rain tonight.

@a2j

I bought a load of fruits last week and whipped up this fruit mocktail. It had pineapple, watermelon, muskmelon, pomegranate, mango, apple, orange and strawberry syrup. I even threw in a little tomato and beetroot for effect. With a little sugar and salt and ice, it was just so refreshing!!

@a2j

Have you tried Brave Nightly. This is a beta version that gets updated every night. The biggest advantage for users of the Rewards Program is that they allow up to 10 ads an hour compared to 5 per hour on the regular Brave Browser. The downside is that this is obviously not completely bug free and hence there may be some crashes etc. But it's worth trying. As per their official statement: 'Nightly is our testing and development version of Brave. The releases are updated…

@a2j

When newbies post in the channels there's a pop up that comes up to inform them that their post will be visible after a moderator approves it. There's a typo in this message that brought a chuckle! There's an "I" instead of "It" that makes the popup a little funny. Can mods make the correction to the message. Are these messages channel specific? Screenshot is attached.

@a2j

Are channels created only by admins or can users also create channels? If users can also creat channels, what is the qualification/criteria and where can we see the option to create channels? Since I'm a newbie, I'm still exploring and looking at various site options - so pardon me if the queries are basic or trivial.

@a2j

It's been raining a fair amount this July even though the days are still warm. The dry, brown and rocky hills around are turning green and look lovely highlighted against the blue skies with clouds. I zoomed in using my mobile for this shot and so it may not be clear. I'll probably take another picture lightly zoomed out tomorrow to capture more of the sky.

@a2j

Is Odysee still functioning and growing well? I'm looking to join and post some of my videos and would like a link to join the website. Also if any of you can let me know the basics of how to get started, I'll be grateful. #Odysee

@a2j

A fresh mocktail of fruits. This mocktail has a lovely mix of fruits that I squeezed and then blended into a juice that was healthy and refreshing. I threw in some freshly squeezed juice and added pineapple, watermelon, musk melon, apple, pomegranate, mango and strawberry syrup. As an afterthought, I sprinkled in a few chunks of tomato and beetroot.

@a2j

A cloudy sunrise. After a couple of bright, sunny sunrises, we started off with a cloudy day. The sun was struggling to burn through the cloud cover. It was a touch cooler this morning. I wonder if the day will be cooler and if we'll get some rain tonight.

@a2j

Psalm 36:5 New International Version 5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies. This verse came to my mind when I looked at a beautiful and bright sunrise a couple of days ago!! God bless.

@a2j

I've been listening to a Christian song called 'No Longer Slaves' by Bethel. It's musically brilliant. Stumbled on it a few years ago when I listened to the version by I Am They and we sing it in church often. Link: https://youtu.be/XxkNj5hcy5E

@a2j

Another view from this morning when the hills were plastered against a canvas of clouds.

@a2j

Is this our future? I have been wearing a mask everyday for more than a year. My workplace has a separate mask dangling on my desk. Is this going to be the future of humankind?

@a2j

I've been listening to soothing or inspirational instrumental music in the background. YouTube has plenty of these background music. Here is one of the videos I was listening to: https://youtu.be/kUZTWj2Lxo0

@a2j

We stay on the 5th floor of an apartment and I have some table roses perched on our balcony wall. I loved how this flower looked with a drop of rain on it contrasting with the barren land in the background.

@a2j

I've just started using noise and look to earn the equivalent of 1$ a day. Not sure what do do with it in my bitcoin wallet though. I'm a newbie and just getting familiar with crypto.

@a2j

Is Uphold the only way to withdraw BAT earned from the Brave browser? I heard it's not a very good wallet and has limited usability.

@a2j

Late night and a little stroll outdoors made us spot this beautiful garden lizard among some plants. It wasn't very scared and posed for a few pictures! My children had a fun time looking at it without disturbing it.

@a2j

Building Vs Hills Another cloudy start to the day with cloud cover muffling the sunshine. It's still warm and feels peppy. This view from my balcony shows the constant battle between humankind and nature - the single tall building trying to draw attention away from the distant hills!

@a2j

I'm just curious as to how the noise admin team and management can actually afford to give away so much BCH on the website. How are they breaking even or making any profit? Do they get advertiser's on this website? Or is there any way we can support them in other ways to keep the fun going...

@a2j

Have you used this option in Brave Browser to increase your earnings. Apparently it adds to your earnings. "Show Sponsored Images" is one of the options in your Brave Browser Settings. Everyone you open a new homepage a random image or a sponsored image/ad loads. Try it and see.

@a2j

Are any of you planning to watch the Olympics opening ceremony live? What are the options for watching it live?

@a2j

Fruit time - this time it's kiwi fruit!! Finally managed to get some kiwi fruit and enjoyed the taste and texture. The kiwi fruit has a unique texture when you bite into it - the juicy and firm fruit with the tiny seeds adding a little crunchy feeling to it. It's a little sweet with a touch of sourness. I simply scooped it out and ate it. Of course had to share it with the family. How do you eat your kiwi fruit?

@a2j

A few days ago I had noticed a typo on the popup message that comes up on some channels that are moderated stating post will be published after moderator approvals. An "It" was written as "I". This is the original post. https://noise.cash/post/1rw68p8w Looks like admins noticed this and it seems to have been set right a day ago. Here are 2 screenshots of the old message with the typo and the new one. Can you spot the typo?

@a2j

Good night. A late night stroll and some basketball with my son. This is all we could make out in the dark sky. A flurry of clouds with a distant, meek moon barely able to reflect the sunlight through. It's a warm night with a cool breeze. Sweet dreams!

@a2j

Basketball! With the pandemic restrictions, we avoid playing in groups. So I usually take my children out at night to play some basketball. I also try shooting a few hoops. Tried shooting the ball with one hand and shooting the photograph on my phone in the other hand. Got the photo shot. Just missed the basketball shot. It circled once round the basket and jumped out much to my dismay. I need to work on making my aim and game better. My ten year old son will beat me!

@a2j

A slow ballad from a rock band is soothing and exciting at the same time. The lyrics are deep and very encouraging. This is by a band called RED and is from about 20 years ago I think. https://youtu.be/zBIjElKBgeA "You call my name I come to you in pieces So you can make me whole I've come undone But you make sense of who I am"

@a2j

"Something Out Of Nothing" Back home last night after a busy day at work for both of us. While I mopped the house etc, my super wife whipped up a yummy dinner out of literally nothing. Grilled some frozen fish we had, stuffed it in buns, added some veggies and mayo and some special touches and we all enjoyed a relaxing dinner while watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Blessed to be family together.

@a2j

First medal for India in Olympics. We managed to watch the highlights of the Olympics and were thrilled watching Mirabai Chanu winning silver in her weightlifting category. Wish more Indians get medals at the Olympics. Also am happy the kids got to watch it and enjoy.

@a2j

I'm curious to see what the difference between a Chamber and a Channel in Noise is. They essentially can function the same way. But it looks like any user can start a channel, but I'm not sure how a chamber starts or is formed. Do any of you know the difference?

@a2j

Tonight was very different from last night. Last night had a good cloud cover and moon was very muffled behind the clouds. Today was much clearer. During our night walk, we caught glimpses of the moon behind sparse clouds and then it finally broke free from all the clouds and showed its glory unhindered. We also caught Jupiter and Saturn close to it. A little bit of nightsky watching is good!

@a2j

Bought myself my next set of coffee beans. Ready to rev up for the day!! I wonder how they come up with such names for coffee beans. 650 cc and 900 cc #Coffee

@a2j

When you have a 3 year old cocomelon becomes part of every playlist ever. I've actually started enjoying nursery rhymes and kids songs thanks to my daughter. I have no escape! https://youtu.be/e_04ZrNroTo The only problem with their YouTube channels is that there are ads and that's annoying and also means one of us have to be with her when she is watching.

@a2j

For posts that are waiting for moderator approval: Presently it looks like we get a notification of the post is rejected. Is there any way of getting a notification when a post is approved? Also is there any way that I can see my posts that are waiting for approval so that I can keep track? These are minor tweaks that would make the site experience for users a little more enjoyable. Cheers!

@a2j

After a few cloudy mornings, the sky was bright again and the sun was shining brilliantly this morning. I wish I could do justice to the beauty with photos. My Samsung phone camera can never capture how good the sunrises look! I'll fiddle around with some settings to get better shots in the future.

@a2j

Periwinkles always add a touch of fragile beauty to any garden space. They grow quite easily and intact can easily overgrow!

@a2j

As expected after the bright sunny start to the day, it was quite warm and sunny after we finished online church. I took the kids to play shuttle badminton in the garden and we were sweating quite a bit. The shuttlecock got caught on a tree and it was lovely to look up and see the share of the tree and the hot sun and clear sky with a few stranded clouds on top. Can you spot the shuttlecock? We couldn't find it and thankfully had an extra one we could play with till we were…

@a2j

If you're in a mood for some funny songs, Tim Hawkins is a great bet. Good clean humor and a lot of his songs have songs and parodies in them. This is one called "Things you don't say to your wife". If the title got your attention, the song will surely entertain you even more. It's just over 2 minutes! https://youtu.be/XpFD-kgQxnI

@a2j

"The Brownie Returns" When our neighbours were down with covid a month ago and home quarantined, we helped them and ensured they were ok. All of them had an uneventful recovery. On one day we had sent jelly for their children which they greatly enjoyed. Today they returned the glass bowl we had sent it in and in it were warm, freshly baked brownies. Wow - perfect for an evening!

@a2j

I took this photo a couple of months ago and the dew drops on the plant leaves were a reminder about how God's faithfulness is new every morning. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23) Also enjoy the song with the same words. Have a blessed Sunday.

@a2j

Continuing on, the evening cooled down a little and as the sun set on the other side, invisible to me, the colors of the sky changed where it rose up in the morning. A great hue of orange lit up the clouds. On the second photo the grey clouds in the horizon with the orange glow higher up gives an illusion of layers in the ground. Wonder where the moon is hiding now as the sun sets!

@a2j

A fresh fruit milk shake in the evening. We had got some papaya from our little garden patch today and cut it. The bananas were a little over ripe. So I decided to whisk up a milkshake. Added some Iranian dates and strawberry syrup and blended it it with milk, ice, sugar in a mixie and ended up with a thick, fresh milk shake that was tummy and definitely healthy too. You can see some of the left over cut papaya and the mixie in the background.

@a2j

When are fellow noisers more active on this website - during weekdays or weekends? Daytime or night time? How often do you check in to noise?

@a2j

Australia thrash India in their Olympic hockey match 7 - 1. After India beat New Zealand, they must have been super happy. But today's game showed their limitations. They could barely control the ball and Australia had the ball most of the game. The passing and ability to build an attack by the Indian team was very poor. The scoreline clearly lifted the difference between the teams. Australia was clinical and played with a plan.

@a2j

It's going to be a battle between the sun and the clouds in the sky today. Let's see who wins . I took this pic throuh my bedroom window. There is a wire mesh, metal grill and the glass. So shot through all this. You can see the bar on the right as a dark vertical strip. Let's see what happens through the day. We had moderate rains late at night and the morning is cooler than yesterday.

@a2j

https://youtu.be/bIsCvwowifQ Got myself hooked back to this old Indian English pop/rock band song. This is one of the acoustic songs they had in the 1980s or 1990s. Beautiful music and a great build up in the middle. The song is Pretty Child by Indus Creed.

@a2j

The person who maintains the gardens and spaces in our apartment complex is brilliant. She recycles a lot of plastic and adds some beautiful spots to the campus, making it green and pleasant. Here you can see that she's used a discarded metal frame to make a frame and repurposed plastic bottles to make them post for small plants. #RandomThoughts

@a2j

Basketball jamming with my son occasionally ends up with some fun moments like this. The ball got stuck next to the hoop after a shot. Couldn't jump to release it. Thankfully we had another ball and we aimed and hit the jammed ball a few times to release it. Fun times!

@a2j

I've finally decided to have a serious look here and see if this can be an outlet for all things that I can unleash on a writing website. Hope posting and getting readers is not too complex.

@a2j

Currency makes the world go around? With cashless payments, credit cards and maybe even crypto, the need for paper currency is decreasing. I still need cash to make small payments and buy from small stores. Thebproblem is that when I withdraw from the ATM, it gives me larger denominations and I'm stuck for change. Today I managed to get some change in 2 places - a canteen where I brought some snacks and a bookstore. So I ended up with a thicker wallet due to more currency…

@a2j

It looks like the Brave Browser on windows gives the option of 10 ads an hour from the usual 5 an hour. Not sure if it has been released for all countries. It seems to be 5 an hour limit on the Android version. Of course, you could use nightly from Brave and still get 10 ads an hour. I will check on my laptop when I get to it. Is the 10 ads an hour feature activated for you

@a2j

France defeat the USA in the Olympics Basketball opener. This is awesome considering that the NBA is supposed to have the best basketball players and the US team was reckoned to be the best by a long way. But no.... France pulled of a win and the US have been left smarting after their disastrous start in a game that they easily 'own'.

Hollywood has some classic musicals that have songs that stick around for years after the movie is forgotten. Then there are epic movies like Grease where the movie, actors and music seem to be fit to last a lifetime. https://youtu.be/GJfwWdO1veE "Greased Lightning" is the epitome of pop songs from a movie that will still get your feet tapping. Listen for yourself. A John Travolta classic!

Journey of a coffee bean My 650cc Arabica beans went from their coffee pouch to the Breville grinder before being deposited safely into the aeropress. Captured by my phone and put out on noise.cash for you to wake up and smell the coffee. Vrooom vroom... @a2j

Today morning seems a copy of yesterday morning. Overnight bout of rain and some clouds and the sun came out just like yesterday. I tried to zoom in and catch the colors of the trees on the hill, but failed miserably using my mobile phone. Let's see what the day holds.

@a2j

It's been a while since I saw a rainbow. A few years ago we saw this double rainbow and it was beautiful. I could only think of how much good God has done in our lives!

I have a query for those using Brave Creator Rewards using your website, YouTube channel, Reddit, Twitter etc. Do you transfer to Uphold wallet or do you use the Gemini wallet? Are there any pros and cons for both? Which do you prefer?

Whitney Houston - the diva whos voice enthralled millions in the 1980s and 1990s. This is one of her most popular ballads and showcases her vocal powere really well. It's called "I will always love you". https://youtu.be/3JWTaaS7LdU Her life unfortunately took several turns for the worse and she ultimately died due to accidental drowning with heart conditions and cocaine use contributing to her death. It's saddening that people who have been hugely popular end up with lives…

My start on read.cash is stuttering through. Managed to figure out quite a bit. Today I've been experiencing another error when trying to upload an image as shown in the screenshot. Indian cricketer Krunal Pandya tests positive for covid during the India - Sri Lanka cricket series. The match scheduled for today has been postponed. Krunal had played in the 1st T20 match and hence the entire cricket team is getting tested before proceeding with the next match. I wonder what this means for the upcoming series and also further sports events.

I've had this weird thing happen with notifications once in a while. When I tap on notifications it looks like I've got lots of tips (or sometimes comments) but it is the same notification that repeats multiple times. (Screenshot attached). Is this a glitch on my browser or is it an occasional script glitch on noise?

@a2j

Gangnam Style! Listened to the song after a very long time. I still can't figure out how this song went berserk on YouTube and had a cult following especially for 'that step'. Well I'm not a big fan, but do still listen to the song once on a while.... like tonight. https://youtu.be/9bZkp7q19f0

@a2j

A different depiction of the bright sunny morning. The sun streams directly into our hall/dining area through the windows. The reflection off the floor is almost blinding when I'm sitting on the sofa sipping my morning coffee. It's going to be a hot day. Last night was very warm and it looks like the rains have all gone away.

@a2j

Thought I'd get into a regional language shell and post a Tamil song from 1992 from a Tamil movie 'Roja' that is exquisitely musical and brilliant. The song is China China Aasai. The lyrics are a masterpiece and very difficult to translate while keeping the beauty of the words and poetry intact. https://youtu.be/1A23EcPCEkc

Have your cake and eat it too? Bought this German Chocolate Cake for my mom's birthday. As soon as the cake was cut, it was devoured. I could only take a picture after it was half gone and messy. Who cares as long as it tastes yummy.

Bitcoin covid donation to India in the news I found this news quite intriguing. There was a massive bitcoin / crypto donation drive for covid relief in India, but it's taking a long time to get to India. Price fluctuations, difficulty in exchanges, government approvals and finding what to use if for seems to be challenging. And this one billion dollars worth of crypto donated by many people! Sometimes it's easy to spot pretty flowers even from a distance. Sometimes, you have to delve and peek into some areas to find them. This pretty little yellow flower was almost buried inside greenery, but my eyes caught it and it looked even prettier as it seemed to be lonely. I don't know what flower this is.

I seem to have a problem with my Brave browser when using read.cash. It keeps asking me to verify my browser as it doesn't recognise the device. I need to use my seed words to start surfing the site again. It's happened 3 times this evening. How do I sort it out?

A little alternate pop/rock genre - somewhat acoustic yet the electric sounds take over the acoustic guitar sounds as the song progresses. That's "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls. Listen and check out the beautiful sounds. https://youtu.be/NdYWuo9OFAw

"Don't tell God how big your problem is; tell your problem how big your God is". The white board at work gets filled with beautiful quotes and I've been taking many pictures for many years. Thankfully this treasure trove of photos is a beautiful way to remind myself of many great quotes and meditate on it.

@a2j

Bon Jovi. Need I say more?! The characteristic rock sound that sang soulful rock ballads and guitar riffs and more dominated charts from the 1980s to 2000s. Their best song is arguably "Living On A Prayer" - a lovely song with spiritual philosophies thrown in. https://youtu.be/lDK9QqIzhwk

Loose Change: I have carrying coins in my wallet. It wrecks the wallet shape and hurts my butt when I sit on it with my wallet and coins in my back trouser pocket. All the coins I get as loose change end up in a little office coin holder on my desk. It makes me feel like I'm a millionaire. Maybe not. Maybe it just means that if I want to take a coffe break I don't need to pull out my wallet. Money makes the world go round they say. Will some loose change suffice? The photo…

Solving the Rubik's Cube: I got my 10 year old son interested in the Rubik's cube during all the lockdowns for the pandemic last year when summer vacation did not happen. I then bought him a basic speed cube and with more practice he brought down his timing to 30 seconds at times. Brilliant! I think kids are quick learners, especially if they are curious and…

There was this grungy type of rock that was very popular in the 1990s. One of the songs I loved was Zombie by Cranberries. Never understood or bothered to find out what the song was about. Just rock your body and do some headbanging as soon as the song comes on. https://youtu.be/6Ejga4kJUts

Beauty and uniqueness are all around you - you just have to pause and look more carefully. Like this beautifully colored insect that was crawling happily on a leaf in my garden patch. Look at the brilliant repertoire of color and how it reflects the sunshine.

The unique thing about Def Leopard was that their drummer had only one arm as he had lost the other in an accident. Went to church to set up a few things this evening. We haven't opened church for 4 months now. The church is in a remote place far away from the city. S there's plenty of open spaces around. It was a hot evening and the work was tiring, bit it felt serene looking at the greenery and the fairway hills from the church.

@a2j

I had to go to church this evening to set up a few things in preparation for restarting services on August. It's a little away from the city and is surrounded by green spaces and hills. The church garden was unkempt and had dried quite a bit, but a few flowers still added a splash of colour in their own little spaces. Took the photo in a hurry, so the beauty of the petals is not very evident.
