Almost got blown away this morning while walking the dog but managed to snag some pictures of the waves on the river. Not huge compared to out on the lake but for a river they are pretty large today. Wind gusts of up to 100km/hrs could quickly turn you into a kite 💨🪁 😆

What a beautiful sunset tonight over the river. Tomorrow is suppose to be a high of 18° & rain so we must enjoy the clear skies when we have them. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

The sun coming up over the building this morning made the ice breaking up look like a mosaic of a stained glass window. Soon the river will be ice free & the boats will be ripping up & down the water but till then I will enjoy the crackled look of the ice😁

One of the joys of house sitting when you are homeless is getting to try out all the local restaurants in different places. While Coffee Culture isn't just limited to the local here it is one that is far & few between when every corner has a Tim Hortons instead. I absolutely love their Power-Up breakfast bagel (Egg, cheddar cheese, avocado, on a cheese bagel grilled), a cinnamon scone & a large black coffee.

Spent the day packing & moving all my stuff to storage so tonight marks day one of my couch surfing adventures. This is the wonderful view of the river & our wacky neighbours to the south the USA. Everything seems so peaceful at night but let's see what tomorrow brings.

Yesterday through last night we got a lot of heavy & wet snow. If you don't know snow when it is really cold snow comes down lighter & less compressed & is easier to move with a shovel but when it is warmer & the snow comes down wet & compressed it is like lifting bricks with every shovel full. I was given a beanie/toque for Christmas that had a company logo for a company I have no association with so I ordered a patch of Amazon & I am quite proud of how my first attempt at sewing something in many many years turned out. Tried to grab a quick photo of the Solstice moon while my dog was out barking at it. My hands were cold & shaking didn't have my tripod but I managed to catch a little detail of the surface even though it was so bright at 100 iso, & impossible quick shutter speed it was still a little blown out. We were gifted one of those chef boxes (you know the ones where they send you all the ingredients & recipes for a week's worth of meals) by one of the truck drivers from my wife's work. While the recipes are mediocre, the ingredients & delivery are handy. It just means that when I cook I have to work with what they send & create my own. Who else loves to cook? Hey all you long time HODLers I just got this message on the Bitcoin.com app that they are offering 10-20% APY on FlexUSD. Crypto . com bought the naming rights for the next 20 years to the Staples Center for $700M making the new name the Crypto . com Arena. The term NFT has already been corrupted by corporate capitalism in place of any form of digital art. Todd McFarlane announced he will be launching a Spawn NFT & it's not on a blockchain but a private app. Is an NFT without a blockchain still an NFT? This seems like another example of them corrupting buzzwords without understanding how the technology actually works.
