It's hardly after 10am & it's already humid & muggy. The temperature is only high twenties but feels damn near 40 already. Some of the most dangerous locations on earth are because of humidity, once your body stops sweating because of the ability to regulate cooling that is when you need to really watch out. Signs of heat stroke are headaches, weakness, cramps, confusion & oddly enough feeling cool.
Stay safe out there & look out for each other & our furry companions.
Ok so I think I'm time traveling & woke up in the 1800s this morning cause I looked out my balcony door & saw a freakin pirate ship heading up the river towards the lake. That or there really is a ghost ship that I have joked about before when it gets foggy.
Sitting down to do a rewatch of all the Thor movies & build a new Lego set for my wall in prep for the Thor Love & Thunder premiere tomorrow, my first in theater movie in many many years.
I've been following this thread on Twitter that asked what # is your perfect steak & these are 2 of my favorite response charts 😆
I'll take a #2 or a #3 at worst #5 is shoe leather & you should just order the chicken instead 😜
Happy Canada day to all my fellow Canadians.
Great fireworks show tonight, stay safe my friends & party responsibly.
So with the government banning yet another platform here all I can think is one thing....
If the government wants to regulate crypto so bad as an investment, I will gladly apply it as an investment capital loss this year on my taxes. Give me that money back🤣🤣🤣

It was so windy this morning that the fountain was spraying all across the boardwalk & into the river, I was able to catch this great combination of the mist, rainbow, & morning sunflare all in one.
If you have a dark sense of humor like me then you laughed way to hard at this.
Happy Memorial day to all my Southern neighbours in the 🇺🇸 , thanks for the fireworks show tonight from across the river.
Ever wonder what the stigma of an African Violet looks like close up?
Wonder no more.
I don't know why but I like quotes that contrast the photo so here is a Scarlett Witch quote from M.o.M. on one of my cherry blossom photos😝
It's rough to see the market in such a fall, some of my accounts are down 80%+ from where they were not long ago but this is the risk we take & honestly I like to look at it as an opportunity to buy more at a discount.
I made my regular monthly purchase of a service with Bitcoin this month & I noticed that Coinbase asks me now whether the account I am sending too is a Self Custody wallet OR another exchange. This is not something I make a habit of asking when sending someone else crypto cause it's none of my business. Just like when making a phone call I don't need to ask the person I'm calling if their phone is an iPhone or an Android. I think these regulation are getting too extreme & this is what is accounting for a large drop in the market. Do you think we will ever see easing of these extreme measures or is this just the new way of doing business in the crypto world?
*side note I never asked the service provider I just chose Self Custody & my payment was received, unless other wise told if I am sending you crypto I will assume it is Self custody cause no one should hold on exchanges long term imo.
Had to stop & admire the cherry blossoms on our walk today, they are only out for a short time every year & we are at peak as they have started to fall so soon the ground will be covered & the trees will be green.
May the fourth be with you!
Happy Star Wars day to all my Star War-iors out there. I'm making sure to wear my shirt & my Boba Fett hat, I got my watch screen all set to a Stormtrooper & I'm looking to marathon some The Mandalorian later for the second time!
What Star Wars are you watching today?
Another beautiful sunset with the tower being lit up over on the US side of the river.
A week ago it was 20°C, today we have snow again 😂 what a wild April.
So I tried something new on my photo editing.
I think it really makes the edges of the items pop out but tell me what do you think?
Took this photo yesterday afternoon around 2:30pm which is usually not the best time to take a photo but hey it is what it is lol
For just a few moments tonight the sky cleared enough to get a photo of the crescent moon in all it's glory.
For something that is 238,855 miles (384,400 km) away I find it crazy that we can pick up such detail with a simple phone camera & a tripod.
Fun facts about the moon:
1)You can fit all the planets in our solar system lined up between the earth & the moon.
2)It is likely that there are fragments of dinosaur bones on the moon caused by them being flung into space from the asteroid impact, beating mankind to the moon by about 66 million years.
3)The dark side of the moon is not a literal dark side but is so name because it is not viewable to us, the moon orbits the earth with one side always facing us & the only way to view the opposite side is by passing the moon which also creates a communication blindspot.
4)The moon does affect the tides on Earth but they do not "rise & fall" the sun & moon create 2 bulges on either side of the Earth & the planet rotates within those ocean bulges. The water stays the same it is the Earth 🌎 that moves.
🤪
Starting April 4th Coinbase is requiring it's Canadian users to 'snitch' on those that they are sending crypto to when the transactions are $1000 or greater. You will be required to provide the receivers name & address in order to process the transaction. What say you about this new regulation? Will it limit your interactions with Canadian Coinbase users in order to protect your own privacy?
The trails are a busy place today being the last day of March Break so we stopped for lunch at this bench under the streetlight to have a break & watch the water. I'm surprised the USA/Canada Bridge has so little traffic on it but I'm sure it will pick up later this afternoon.
I saw this fishing boat drifting in through the fog this morning & had to grab a shot because it just made me think of the movies when a ghost ship drifts in. The fog was so thick it was hard get the photo to distinguish shapes & colors but that was also kind of the point so I think this turned out ok.
Red sky at night, sailor's delight
Red sky in morning, sailors heed warning.
This was a picture of the sunset tonight after all the fog cleared & if the old rhyme is to be believed then tomorrow should be a good weather day. Stay tuned to find out😁
We had fog roll in yesterday afternoon & have been under a fog watch since. The horns have been sounding to warn the ships all night but surprisingly that didn't stop me from actually getting a good night sleep for a change.
While walking the dog this morning I was able to snap this picture of the fog up river towards the mouth of the lake & you can't even see the shipyard or the ships docked there. The sun has since come out & lifted the haze but it could return since we are still in the roller-coaster of temperatures for the next few days.
The ice was back today floating down from up river giving the birds a spot to sleep. These were the ones to lazy(or smart enough to know we weren't coming to get them) to swim away. I tried to get a photo of one very bright colored mallard but it took off as we got close enough to get the unobstructed shot.
Another clear evening, the light reflecting off the water stretchs right across the water from the opposite bank.
Someone has decided the best way to let me know he still exists is to rest his head on my laptop😆
Managed to snap a couple photos of the Algoma Intrepid on it's way back up to the lake after it turned around in the river. A little tug boat was floating along side of it also, but I really liked this picture of the bow of the ship showing the name. I have been told there is an app that shows you all the commercial maritime ships location so I will be downloading that so I can have my full size camera ready next time one of the ships comes in to load or turn around.
I am officially boosted. Got my 3rd booster shot yesterday & had zero side effects this time, not even a headache like I got with the first 2 shots. Our province is saying they will be lifting the mask mandates near the end of the month but I will be one that will continue to wear one for the foreseeable future. Stay safe & stay vigilant🙃
Something about how the light was reflecting on the African Violet this morning just needed to be captured. The yellows, purples, & greens just seemed to stand out today.
Happy International Women's day to all the kickass women in my life & around the world. Remember to get out & support local women owned businesses today if you can.
