During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan had some interesting things to say about Bitcoin that has caught the attention of the crypto world.

In his interview with Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, Joe Rogan discussed a wide array of subjects, spanning from the significance and potential risks of AI (artificial intelligence), to the debate surrounding drug legalization, as well as his fascination with Bitcoin and the future of money in an increasingly digital world.

As the discussion steered towards cryptocurrency, Joe Rogan stated that "the real fascinating crypto is Bitcoin, to me that's the one that has the most likely possibility of becoming a universal viable currency."

Rogan went onto to emphasize how Bitcoin is being used in daily life is already here, as he highlights his friend Andreas Antonopoulos, a tech entrepreneur, who uses Bitcoin for everything he does.

You can find the full quote from Joe Rogan here:

"The real fascinating crypto is Bitcoin, to me that's the one that has the most likely possibility of becoming a universal viable currency. It's limited in the amount that there can be, and people mine it with their own computer. That to me is very fascinating and I love the fact that it's been implemented."

- Joe Rogan, Host of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast

At a certain point, Joe Rogan brought up CBDCs and stated he is "very worried about central bank digital currency and that being tied to a social credit score".

Sam Altman responded by exclaiming he is "super against it", referring to the CBDCs. Altman ended his thoughts on the topic by saying he is "very worried about how far the surveillance state could go here".

Not to be completely outdone in the headline-making department, Sam Altman made some interesting comments about Bitcoin, the US government, and the increasing state of surveillance surrounding digital currencies.

Referring to the governments repeated attempts to keep a leash on crypto, Altman exclaimed that he is "disappointed with many things the U.S. government has done recently, but the war on crypto, which I think is a, like, we can't give this up, we're going to control [bitcoin and crypto]. This is what makes me quite sad about the country."

Speaking about the push for regulation after the FTX collapse, Altman stated that he isn't "anti-regulation" but would like to see just enough of regulation to prevent customers from losing their funds.

It is certainly ear-raising when you hear the world's most popular podcast in the world discusses Bitcoin, and the host, Joe Rogan, exclaims his fascination for the original cryptocurrency.

Every time a celebrity or influential individual mentions Bitcoin, we tend to see a sudden rise in the Bitcoin price. So far, I have not seen too much of an increase in Bitcoin's price just yet.

Perhaps we may see more mainstream content creators discussing Bitcoin in the near future now that Joe Rogan has touched on the topic. Creators tend to follow trends, and this may be the start of one.

Do you think Joe Rogan discussing Bitcoin will move the needle in any measurable way?

I am very much worried about Sam Altman's Worldcoin cryptocurrency project because they have adopted iris, a biometrics modality, as the default authentication factor. "Biometrics is a Security Hole on the Worldcoin Crypto Project" ... this is my view!

Interesting read, thank you for sharing! I was not too aware with Sam Altman, and I have not thoroughly researched Worldcoin, but I hear a lot of concerns about the project.
