Pompous Football World Cup  

The FIFA World Cup 2022 started last month. Today is the first two matches of the semi final. These matches are Between Brazil and Croatia and Argentina and the Netherlands. Two countries from Latin America and two countries from Europe. 

We all know that the World Cup has been arranged in a Middle East country Qatar. Qatar is a country in the Desert. And it was not so easy for them to arrange this most popular event in their deserted land. But they have done it and done it very well. 

One thing I have also found and which I like a lot is that Qatar didn’t compromise with their own culture. It is praiseworthy I think. Because in this modern era, very few countries can hold Their cultural heritage strongly. And when the question is like this mega event then i think almost every country will compromise easily. But Qatar stands still. They have prohibited alcohol in the Stadium. And today I  read an article when I found something positive about these initiatives. 

That article, there was some interview of a few foreign especially western Women who are now staying in Qatar for the world cup. They asserted that they are having a very good time here. They are feeling very secure and the security system has pleased them very well. They have also said that before coming here they had some fear but now they are feeling comfortable. 

I have also watched an interview of the FIFA president. He has pointed out that this is the best of all world cups. It was always in the center of discussion about how the Stadium of the world cup will be in Qatar. Because when it was going to be fixed that the 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar, there was no football Stadium in Qatar then. But they have arranged everything. And every Stadium is becoming filled with matches.. 

He also pointed out the thrill of group games this year. As I have said before, the semi final is going to be held today. So you can understand that the group round and round of sixteen have already finished.

So let's talk about the group round of this world cup. These group stage games have made this world cup the best. All of the 32 teams have played well. Every team was a threat for every team. 22 November in the first match of Argentina, one of the heavyweight teams in this world cup, Saudi Arabia beat them. Germany, the fourth times champions, was not able to pass the group stage. On the other hand, Japan and South Korea played round of sixteen for the first time. Morocco played a round of sixteen and eliminated Spain in a penalty shootout. Now they will play the quarter final Against Portugal. 

My country Bangladesh is not playing in the world cup. We are not in the ranking of top 100 teams. But we play the cricket world cup and there we are strong enough. Although we are not playing in the FIFA world cup, we are not away from it. 

Bangladeshi people love football most. The Bangladeshi football fans are mainly divided in two groups. Brazil fans and Argentine fans. And you Won't believe they are mad for these teams. When the world cup comes, flags of these favorite teams fly on the roofs of houses. Even sometimes these supporters went one step further and resulted in conflict Between fans. 

Tonight is going to be a thrilling night for both tema's fans. Because both teams will play the quarter final today and if any of these teams are eliminated then another team's fans will mock the losers. 

After two and half hours the match Between Brazil and Croatia is going to be held. I am personally a supporter of Brazil Football. I am hoping for the best. Let's see what happens.
