The Pune Police has arrested a man who defrauded 8000 people for Rs 2000 crore through bitcoin. Pune Police's main accused of scam from Delhi Airport Bhardwaj is caught. According to the news published in the Indian Express, Amit started his own bitcoin mining operation (the process of acquiring bitcoins). The Pune police has already arrested Amit Bhardwaj's seven aides.

Delhi Police said that Amit Bhardwaj had opened the first online retail market place inside the country in the year 2014. Amit's bitcoin operation ran in many countries including China. Recently, he has launched a new bitcoin called map. Pune Police was informed about Amit by a Bangkok agency. Pune Police Commissioner Rashmi Shukla has confirmed the arrest of Amit Bhardwaj. He told that Amit has been arrested from Delhi Airport.

Police said that Amit had promised to give more returns from investors on buying bitcoins. Investors were promised 10 per cent returns in the scheme run by him. He used to have a contract with investors, which was valid for 18 months. Apart from this, he used to give bitcoin mining option to investors. In this, people could mine bitcoins themselves. The police said that Amit never gave this benefit to the investors.

He was arrested earlier

After Amit left the country, ED's Mumbai branch issued a lookout notice against Amit. According to the police, Amit has sent many people including Mumbai, Pune, Nanded and Kolhapur. Investors in the cities were thwarted Earlier, the police also arrested seven of Amit's associates Akash Sancheti, Kajal Singhvi, Vyas Sapa, Hemant Suryavanshi, Hemant Chavan, Ajay Jadhav and Pankaj Adhalka.
