Under the Republic Act No.9262 conjointly referred as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 (VAWC), violence against women and children is incorporates just physical violence nonetheless in addition sexual violence, psychological violence, and economic abuse, including threats of such acts, battery, assault, coercion and harassment. The law punishes any act that been committed by any person against woman who is wife, former wife, or against a woman with whom the person has or had a sexual or dating relationship, or with whom a common child, or against her child whether legitimate or illegitimate, within or without the family abode. The problem of this policy is that most of the women is not knowledgeable about their rights.

Cases of Violence as of June 2020

Women 1, 945

Children 1, 745

This data is reported since Duterte imposed lockdown. The table shows the total cases is 3,690. Currently, many women are continuously experiencing violence. As we can see most of the commercial, series, movies in the Philippines, always men is the savior and sometimes women is only seen as strong if they have a super power and it just happened in the movies not in real life. And in some point, women always portrayed that been abused by men. This scenario has been retained in the mind of most every women that they cannot fight with men. They have been traumatize whenever they experience violence and chose to silent and let it passed. This can hinders women from showing their full potentials. Some men implying that they are dominant. In society many women are afraid to their husband or who ever man that they have been encountered as they know it strong than women, even in workplace. This has been historically unequal power between relations between men and women. This policy can be improve by creating awareness, by that, women and children will be aware that they have the rights. The women and especially children must be educate in a young age to be aware about their rights as well as those women who has low education. So it can helps to protect them and prevent the violence and to be manipulate by men. This policy must be enforce to protect women from discrimination and violence, they must not wait to have a victim before making an action. The revision of this policy must include the regular counseling in every women and children as well as men to have a good mental health to not be addicted in any vices that will lead them to be stressed and cause them to hurt their wife or children. By this, it will also helps to build the support system of women. From the revision of this policy, there can be no more women or children that will be abuse. At a young age, they must be already learning that violence will never be solve any problems in society and also that they must learn to respect. And to all women, you must not be afraid to speak up for those who have lost their voice and dignity.

Recommendation

 Monitoring the conditions of women and children in their respective house, as well as in their work. In this way, it can lessen the violence because they will know what is happening to their house and will increase the awareness of women and they will be comfortable that they are safe whenever they are.

 Supports to those victim must be provided. If the women file a case to their husband, the government must provide financial support to the wife and children, especially those women that being financially supported by their husband and no work. Does not be the excuse to set aside the violence that have been done by the men.
