The merger has been completed

The Ethereum Merge process is finally completed, and the outcome is as expected. The PoS Era for the Ethereum network has begun, and the time of mining is left behind like a step in the evolution.

Anger over the blue tick scam remains 

Just a few days ago, fake Vitalik Twitter accounts with blue ticks scammed lots of people in the name of the merger celebration giveaway. Those who lost their ETH on them are now blaming both Vitalik and Twitter (they are, however, justified because Twitter did fake verification, and Vitalik did nothing against scammer's address).

The debate over energy consumption 

Vitalik has stated that global energy consumption will now be reduced by 0.2%. He has indirectly implied that Ethereum mining consumes that much energy. This could spark a debate between PoW Bitcoin and PoS Ethereum because the anti-mining lobby always raises the issue of energy consumption in mining.

Unsolved Issue of Gas and Time

Although the successful merge is very big and very important news for the Ethereum network, many people are still not satisfied. The main issues are gas fees and transaction speed. All hopes for those who were already shattered by the announcement of the Ethereum foundation were dashed. People will ask for further upgrades, which means more time with nodes.
