If you are able eat decent food three times a day then you must be grateful about it because not all of us experience it because of poverty. Some people don't have food in thier table. Some people have food in thier table but it's not decent but they still choose to eat those food because of poverty.

Have you ever heard the word Pagpag?

Pagpag is what the Filipino term for a food that has been thrown away in the garbage by the fast food chain and then they will cook it again and sell it to people.

For example , fast food chains like McDonald's. Some of the customers have left overs when they finished eating, some are meaty but some are totally a bone. They will get it garbage bag on the fast food chain and from the dump site they will separate the food and the containers. Can you imagine how dirty the dump site is? And left over food from different people with different salivas and we don't know if one of them has a disease. But still they don't care.

After separating the food from the container they will wash it repeatedly so that it will be clean as they said.

On the documentary that I have watch they can sell the uncooked pagpag for 25 pesos per one bucket of Jolibee. They will sell it on a person who cooks pagpag.

So there's an eatery there who sell cook pagpag and people from thier place bought it everyday. Residents there preferred to eat pagpag because it's cheap like you can buy 10 pesos per order. Because of poverty they choose to eat pagpag. They are taking the risk of having a food poison rather than being hungry because of the inflation of goods.

The common recipe they cook for pagpag is adobo , caldereta or fried pagpag. They said pagpag is delicious because it's malinamnam like even if you just sipsip the bones and then eat rice you can survive one meal for a day.

Is pagpag is safe?

Of course if you see it for the first time and you see where it came from you will said it's not safe though for me it's not safe also but as per the owner of the eatery who cooks pagpag they never encountered people who complained for food poison because of eating pagpag that why they said it's safe as long as you will cook it well. Even the kids on thier place eats pagpag.

It is not recommended to eat pagpag but for those people who have no choice why not right?

This is just sad reality on a third world country like here. There's a lot of people who are drown in poverty.

I can't imagine myself eating pagpag. How about you? Can you eat pagpag?

It's really a sad reality where those who's at position failed to recognize.. Poverty is scattered throughout the country and it's right infront of their eyes yet..they're not making long term solutions for it.. ng sa ganon ay makakain man lang sila ng normal na pagkain araw araw..

there's a thought of it being dirty or maybe there's virus in it since it is already eaten by someone else. I am grateful that I can afford to buy decent food for the family but to those who have almost nothing, this is already a treat, most if not all of them would even eat straight from the garbage container.. it's a sad reality
