This is the part 2 of my article entitled It's Pastor's Day. I stopped that article on the part that members shared some testimony and now I will continue it to the main part of the worship which is the gospel reading.
The gospel for today:
2 Corinthians 8:1-12
The topic for this Sunday is about generosity. It is all about building the culture of generosity on church. The Pastor tackled about the church of Macedonia. He discussed on how this church managed to be generous despite of all the challenges. That when in times of poverty they still showed joy and hope.
Generosity is not all about on how big the amount you give but it's all about on how you sincerely give the amount. Sometimes people give big amount but they are just giving it without a heart and sometimes other people give a little but they give it with all of their heart. God will see whats in your heart. God has no care on the amount.
Generosity cannot be tested during those times that you have more. Generosity is truly tested when you have little but you still choose to give. It is not also based on how your status in life is.
Pastor started to tell their childhood. How God changes their life and how God works on their life. Their parents were both farmer. They were 11 siblings but look at them now , half of them were professional. Back then, they have no money for tithes and offering to give on the church so they decided to offer a sack of rice as an offering.
While listening to the Pastor , I remembered my husband experienced in the hands of his father when he was a kid. He start to work on farm and his father stopped him from studying but instead of putting hatred onto his father , he still choose to forgive and this is how God designed his man.
After the gospel part. We already eat lunch and after that they held a meeting again. The meeting is all about buying a lot and build a church because they are only renting. The church leader talked to us for the pledged because she needs the help of every member because the cost of the lot is 600,000 PHP and they only borrowed it to the bank and need to pay for three years.
This kind of pledged is all about generosity also and how you put your trust to God that He will provide. I am so amazed with their faith.
That's all for my Sunday happenings. Goodnight to all.
