What is boodle fight?
Boodle fight is a Filipino tradition of eating in which was originated by the military. So theres a different food and set it in a middle of the long table and the soldiers eat using their hands. It symbolizes camaraderie , brotherhood and equality for them. You need to grab food and eat it as long as you can that why there's a word " fight " on it.
Boodle fight is set on the long table with banana leaves that serves as plate. It is consist of rice, different viands such as grilled pork, grilled fish, hotdogs , tocino, longganisa and more as long as its available but typically its more on fried and grilled viands. You can also add some steamed vegetables like lady finger, eggplant, camote tops , string beans and bitter gourd. Some prepared for soup like Sinampalukang manok or sour soup chicken but they put it on a palayok or pot. You can also put different vegetables such as melon, watermelon and mangoes for dessert. You just eat the food by your hands and no utensils allowed during boodle fight 😄
Usually boodle fight serves when you go on an outing with family or even on an ordinary day that you just want to experience those bonding with your family.
Sometimes we planned a boodle fight in our backyard. We just cut some banana leaves and set a boodle fight with the available food on our kitchen then calling some of our neighbors so that it is more happy to eat because the more the merrier
These photos were taken in our back yard and we decided to prepared for a boodle fight on our lunch. It is a great bonding also of the family and the dishwasher were grateful because theres no plate that he/she will going to wash after hahaha.
