Food and Water Insecurity
Water is the basic necessity on this planet that makes it possible for life. It is necessary for the growth of crops and livestock. Large quantities of water are required for agriculture. Good quality water is needed for various production processes. Water is feeding the whole world and producing a wide range of crops. Almost, 70% of the freshwater is consumed for irrigation purposes.
In the Universal Declaration for Human Rights, it was affirmed that everyone would be granted access to adequate food and water. However, access to adequate food and water in most of the developing areas is still not up to the standards. In rural areas, people still depend upon natural sources such as rain for drinking water and producing food.
