Self Reflection about Biodiversity Loss

As a human being and a part of life on earth, I see biodiversity loss as a part of the same loss that I experience when thinking about myself or my family. As I see the world around me suffer from deforestation, pollution, and climate change caused by human aggression, all I try to do is reflect on how these changes affect me.

The two major changes that can be seen on earth today are the physical destruction of natural habitats due to human growth, and the chemical destruction of our planet due to increased fossil fuel emissions. These changes both affect our health and the health of our environment.

As people die from being in areas that are unfit for human life, we begin to question why we continue to destroy our world and the lives of other living beings. If people were at risk of dying because they lived in a structure that was not safe, would this mean that they should move out? If their home was destroyed by a forest fire, would they be safe in an apartment building? The answer is no, and this is true with many other things on earth. We cannot continue with such action without thinking about the consequence it will have on every species around us, on our own species, and ultimately all of life as we know it. In order to avoid the Demise of all life on earth, we must carefully think about how our actions can affect the other species around us before we build and build structures and factories, we should include in our plans how we can avoid damaging the habitats of other life forms A man once said to restore stability to our planet, therefore, we must restore its biodiversity, the very thing we have removed. It is the only way out of this crisis that we ourselves have created. We must rewild the world.
