"When I was a boy a wise man told me People are Animals, and there is absolutely nothing special about them they just don't know they are. His words never left my mind though they were safely tucked in the back of my mind with the unfortunate and embarrassing moments of my mortal life.'

'I have gone through life with the strong belief that people are indeed animals. They pretend to know what they want and do what they want but are still bounded by the vile chemical reactions that they call emotions. I call it humanity, it's pitiful.'

"So why do you live among us then? If you hate us this much and you see us as what you have stated "Animals" Then why do you walk amongst us. Why not kill us all?

She sipped her coffee grateful to gain a little heat in her as the cold New Year’s air bit into her leather jacket as the white snow sipped through her boots making her hold back a shiver.

Adam Wild the tall graceful man standing inches away from her gave her an annoyed look, one she would have missed if she wasn’t accustomed to finding his eyes under the dark mop off curls on his head, that cold stare that meant "Dear Lord Must I tell her everything!!"

Its talks like these that make her question why she decided to answer the ad in the paper for a Live-in Therapist.

Life hadn't been as marvelous as she had thought it would be after university, she had found herself all alone in New York with no money, no place to call home and worst of all no job.

"Right I was desperate." She reminded herself.

"You Miss Hawthorne are no mortal; if you were you couldn’t have possibly crossed the gates of Perl Manor."

"There he goes again! He really does believe what he says" she thought.

In truth she had become accustomed to Mr. Wilds never ending rant about how the world has changed over the centuries, how humans are "Vile cancerous animals," and how he insisted that he, a wealthy British businessman who had decided to build a beautiful manor  in  Ireland and lock himself in it. Is a God!

Yes. Adam Wild was without a shadow of a doubt clinically insane.

But oh lord did he have to be so damn attractive! Tall, arms like a Greek god, chiseled cheeks, burgundy deep voice, good posture, untamed hair, amazing taste in fashion.

it seemed that every time she was around him for too long her body goes into a frenzy, she hadn’t been touched by a man for two years and being close to a fine specimen of a man such as  Mr. wild was bringing out something inside of her, something that longed to be felt and...

“Are you even listening to me Miss Hawthorne!" Adam spoke shaking her hand to get her attention as he always did.  His Therapist always seemed to be wondering off into her headspace. Why he had no idea but it always irritated him and he hated her for that.

He sometimes thought about sending her back and looking for a new therapist. He wasn’t mad, that he was certain of, he had just felt lonely after centuries of being alone, he wanted companionship, and the helps in his manor wouldn’t be of any use. He was their master after all.

No he needed someone who would just listen to him, that and she was the only one that showed up.

"Sorry, I wasn’t listening what did you say?"

"Never mind" Adam said "Let’s just leave you’ve already had your coffee there’s nothing left to do in this town, Call Sean and have him Pick us up.

She slowly reached into her pocket to take out her cellphone when it happened. The sound of screams, the look of horror in Adams face, the splash of something wet, and the cold embrace that enveloped her slowly numbing body.

She didn’t even know what was happening Adams tall figure became a blurry mess as she focused on trying to understand what he was saying. The slow numbing effect on her body was like a lullaby she couldn’t resist, darkness loomed closer, she saw red snow, as red  reminding her of  roses in the warm spring day, the ones that her grandmother grew in her little garden on the rooftop of the Boston apartment she once knew as home. She saw light, pure gold rays, almost as golden as her dead mothers wedding ring that she wears around her neck.

"Adam, I, I I'm sleepy," she let out a breathless whisper.

"Stay with me Genesis it's going to be all right I won’t let you die!"

"But I want to sleep," she insisted, her head beginning to hurt, her body began to ache for rest.

"Genesis!"

She heard him call but she couldn’t respond, all she could think about is how tired she was and how desperate she was to rest.

as she slowly succumbed to the darkness that enveloped her like the red snow she laid on only two  word could be heard, just two.

"Ruemac Arrow."
