Language vs Quality of People
With-it almost all latitudes of the planet, the language of each region: pronunciation, diction, writing, and spelling defines the sociocultural level of that community.
I worked for more than 20 years, as a producer and driver of programs in several radio stations. When I became a speaker, I remember that one of the rules that the experts of the time were: the radio is a means of communication and, any means of communication must comply with the established trilogy: to inform, entertain and educate.
Based on the previous premise, and having acquired preparation, I find it very annoying to see or listen to a certain announcement, specifically from Chile, Ecuador, and Peru when they make incredible mistakes. Such is the case that I must mention in this writing that has been made in Chile and that they repeat without ceasing, without objection of the wording of the text and, the most curious thing is that, the so-called executives of the advertiser company have agreed with such brutality.
You at this time read this article, which you think of the following expression: the commercial announcement refers to a mass consumption product, in which firm consulting advertising, has prepared an image for the aforementioned article and, it is presented to the SEO of the producer company to be approved.
The commercial that is in front of my TV screen manifests itself as follows:: "Thank you for coming to Ryan, please" then the SEO says yes and, the announcement of the product enters.
This commercial as mentioned above is from Chile. Now I ask: "At w time the word" please ", does it make sense, after an affirmation?
In the English language: "Please" is a word. In Spanish, it is a phrase: "Por favor”.
This commercial or ad was made in Spanish. However, the phrase or word after an affirmation is absurd.
As this commercial is presented, in some way we are telling the population that this expression: "Thank you for coming, please" is a correct use of language and this unconsciously is becoming a norm, which will determine a very poor culture and a great mediocrity.
In the end, everything translates into ignorance, lack of creativity and, this country will remain in the underdevelopment and the third world.
This is why the nations of America live socio-cultural situations that will be very difficult for them to overcome, while ignorance, lack of preparation, and lack of creativity persist.
