Long before you develop a serious heart problem, it may show some early symptoms or signs. That is why it is a foolish thing to neglect those early symptoms. Moreover giving utmost attention to those symptoms is vital in getting immediate treatment at a right time thus preventing a more serious complication such as chronic heart desease or the fatal heart attack!

What are the symptoms?

I have here some of those symptoms to look out for:

  1. Fast or uneven heart beat - also known as palpitations, throbbing or heart racing feeling.

  2. Fatigue - if you are feeling much more tired than normal. You feel so tired that you can't do normal activities. Or you are experiencing a sudden, sever weakness, then fatigue on your case is a symptom of a heart problem.

  3. Chest pain- You may feel discomfort or pain along the front of your body, between your neck and upper abdomen.

  4. Shortness of breath- When your heart can't pump blood properly, it may cause shortness of breath, which later if no treatment is done could lead to the dreaded heart failure.

  5. Coughing or Wheezing- if you are coughing and wheezing and it won't go away it can be a sign that fluid is building up in your lungs.

  6. Narrowed Blood Vessels- narrowing of blood vessels that bring blood to other parts of our body may mean that you have a much higher risk of for heart attack.

  7. Swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet- also known as Edema or swelling in your legs is also a sign of a heart problem.

There could be more symptoms depending on an individual and on how severe the heart problem is.

Having said that, if you have any of the above signs and symptoms, please immediately consult a doctor.

I hope this article is helpful in any small way.
