Why do we forget things in the first place?

Hello friends! I know just like me, we tend to forget things every now and then.

In this Article, Lets Sharpen our Brain and Answer the Unforgetable question!

Why do we Forget?

But first of all, I would like to ask you a Question!

Do you remember the Last Birthday party you attend Last year?

( Well most of us will say No. )

 Lets try this one,

Do you remember the Outfit you wore last five days ago?

( Same, No.)

Well, most us will find out challenging to remember the certain things so essily? To know why do we forget, first we need to know our memories that are apart of your Complex and Multitalented Brain.

When you undertake certain activitites, for example Reading a Book. Your brain gets active and converts that information into a pulse of Energy that travels to the network of Neurons to the " Short-term Memory " area, where it is stored for hardly a couple of minutes . Then if your Brain thinks that cetain information is important enough, it transfer the data to " Long-term Memory " through the " Hippocampus ," an important part of the Brain that processes memories. And finally, the Hippocampus then moves the data across diferent area of the  " Cerebral Cortex ," for permanent storage .

Now we know how we remember things, but the critical Question is,

 Why do we forget things?

That's because there is no need for us to maintain everything in our Brains. " Short-term memory " has a fairly limited capacity. It can hold about Seven items for no more than 20 to 30 seconds at a time. So what ever informarion our Brain perceives, as less important is eradicated from its system, saving it from getting Overloaded. And the information that is Very important for us is eventually transferred from the short term area of our memory to " Long term " Part, that has Unlimited capacity. To store where it stays for a longer period.

It's absolutely normal to occasionally forget things. Like the name of someone you just met, or where you left your phone 😂. And of course has forgotten an answer to the Test. Also it's typical to forget things as we Grow older.

But if you find your self forgetting things every now and then, there are several steps you can take to keep your Brain healthy and retain your Memories.

> Just try to stay phisically active by Execising or Playing. And also, do not forget to Eat healty food as your brain needs the right Nutrients, to keep your brain and memory working effectively. And finally, give your mind a good workout session by solving Puzzles, learning new Languages, and exposing it to new Challenges to keep your memories intact. Till infinity and Beyond🚀🚀🚀.

💡Trivia Time!

Yes, such as when a person has Alzheimer's disease. In this disease, deposits build-ups, and nerves cells stops working,

Leading to memory Loss. Also, other reasons such as Chronic stress, Depression, and Isolation can also affect our ability to store Short-term memories.
