General Tips and Best Practices
1. With all numbers, operation, symbols, and algebraic expression, Write it Clearly and Neatly.
2. Do not rely on mental computation. Do computations on paper.
3. Do not use the Dot ( . ) for multiplication, to avoid confusion with decimals. " Its better to use parenthesis () for multiplication ."
4. To avoid confusion, write () for multiplication and X for variables.
5. For word problem, write all the GIVEN or KNOWN information first.
6. Draw or Sketch a diagram when solving a problem.
7. If you have time, review and check your work. Watch out for positive and negative signs. Don't try to finish quickly just showing you are " Good ." Remember the maxim " Mastery not Vanity "
8. Enjoy Math! The greater the challenge, the greater the intellectual fun.
