Can someone with a 21st century sensibility understand the literature of the past ages?
The 21st century generation were known for their advance ability and their knowledge about technology and it also help them to understand quickly the different literature even it is old or new one, because of the expansion of technology throughout the entire planet it is easy to share one literature even the author is on the different part of the world. Many people in this generation were professional enough to have an extensive research about the writings of the famous authors in the past and it can prove that even we are in new centuries we can still be sensible to understand the different literature throughout the history of the mankind. There are three reasons why most 21st century citizens are able to understand the past ages' writings. One of them is the advancement in learning systems that younger kids were taught to appreciate different literature inside or outside of their country. The second factor was the influence of family, and it is the number one reason why most teens of any age love to study and read literature, even if it's an old one. The third one is the advancement of technology because of technological advancements, most people in the twenty-first century have access to a wide range of literature.
In summary, we can tell that people with 21st century sensibility have the ability to learn, express, and understand the past literature and even understand the emotions that the authors were trying to give their readers. They are also capable of elaborating on the main idea given by the content of a book.
Each author uses literature as a means of self-expression (Austin, 2022, para. 5). A lot of authors use their literature as a diary of their emotions and feelings, and the readers are able to appreciate them. That is why most people in the 21st century are able to relate because they understand the emotions of the author just by reading the works of it. Literature is a large collection of different thoughts from different authors, and even in the future, it will still exist because there are people who are still interested in it because it gives psychological benefits to the readers. In the 21st century, people were able to relate to it because they discovered the history of the past, the history of the books, and the history of the authors. The literature of the past was a treasure, and as generations passed by, people were not able to forget it. That is one thing we can’t remove from the history of mankind that there are still a lot of people who are interested in reading books even it is old.
Most students in the twenty-first century were still able to fully understand previous literature because they could relate to the content of books, which helped them to fully build themselves and their confidence. Although there is a gap between the times it was written, it will not take away the uniqueness of past literature. There is no gap in learning literature, whether it is in the past, present, or future centuries. They can still read, understand, discuss, and share the different writings of an author because humans made the literature, and only humans can fully understand it.
