The Value of teaching our children to become Independent

Being an independent is what I have learned since I was a kid.I don't want to rely on people regarding my needs, and doing things for myself.

How is it important of being independent?

A person whom is independent willl learn new things, tries his/her best to become productive, and enhances his ability to make him stand for himself. It can develope into a reliable attitude, especially when it comes to work, by doing his job without being told by other people. It can also develop self-esteem, when a person can provide for his family or himself he can be proud of himself by doing this, and also the rest of the family can rely on him in times of need. It shows a strong personality, and it's not being arrogant by saying, I can do this on my own, but it's just a sign of self-worth.

The disadvantage of being dependent?

I have observed when a person is very dependent they cannot enhance their talent or developed an attitude to do their things by themselves. Starts with a very simple task like doing laundry even a young teens, by putting all the task to her mother even when she can do it by himself.

Asking everything from other people, like getting a cup of water on the table or putting an empty plate on the washing area. It happens to us, within our house that's why I say so. By letting her siblings, parents pick her up with something even when he can. Maybe it's just over and it's a sign of laziness.

How to train a child to become independent?

1.By giving them a simple task, like washing the dishes, picking up garbage, folding their blankets or feeding the dogs, sweeping the floor. An assigned task to each of them can help them to become responsible for their actions.

2.By giving them choices and let them decide on their own. A child has the right to choose for themselves, at least with guardians' supervision and guidance. It starts with what they want to wear when they go out. They can decide of their outfit, what course they want to pursue in college which they are very passionate about and not just with what we want for them.

It's just that by showing them that we trust them in small decisions, it can help to boost themselves and confidence that can make on their own.

By helping one another to boost our confidence we can eliminate the attitude of self-pity abd discouragement. The feeling of being useless abd saying that, I can't do this on my own"It's so hard to be in prison with our cage of self securities.

By being independent a person can achieve more and be molded with all the failure and success in life that a man can pass through. Its not just about how much do we have to be able to be proud of, but it's about standing firm despite all the lacking things in life which we should overcome.

Doing this not only for oneself but for the people and family around us who can see that by doing things without depending on others can help them say, I can do it."

Of course, we need anybody or anyone to achieve our goals but not to the point that we will depend on them every time

It makes me feel bad when I see an old lady who still washed the clothes of her married daughter or son. I see it in person that even their mother is so old, they still depend on her to do the household chores like washing their clothes, cooking, and cleaning the house even they have already a wife and a husband. Its just that an act of abusing their old mother by doing it, how pitiful is the old woman.

Independence is contagious. Once a person can learn to be independent at a very young age, it can be transmitted to their children in the future until the next generations. I see it with some of my family when their parents are very diligent in doing their livelihood, their kids are doing so well also. For all we know, kids just copy what the adults will do, they learned from us. Maybe there are some instances that kids won't do it but later on, it can be done through reinforcing them frequently.

I just like the idea that once an independent person can avoid debts. Would you agree? I think this is one way of escaping from the captivity of debts. How nice to know about this and it's true.

Secondly, you can be a creator rather than a user. In general, you can establish your career.

Life today is a bit hard so that means we cannot depend on anybody all the time because it may just cause us trouble.

We should learn to try harder for ourselves and seek our path of endeavor in life.
