Let me first(ako muna) I was watching the interviews with the presidential candidates in the Philippines while writing this article. And it really helps me to think of who will be my choice based on their answers with some tough questions. It was not an easy task to become a president especially with this trying times that we are recently at risk with the pandemic. All of them had their own words in convincing people to vote for them, but I think these words are not enough to let the people choose them right away. Filipinos have the expressions like,"ako muna",(let me first).Which means a persons desire to be in the first place,to be prioritize. And just like these candidates, which I think they all have this kind of thinking,to let them be the first choice of the people. But,at the end ,the majority choice will win. I often heard that they used the words,"if I",with promises on their words upon saying these words."If I will become the president,I will....Honestly,I'm tired of hearing a common promises from the past few years already,"good life, jobs, people will no longer work abroad, taxation will be lesser, and many many more,as far as I have observed, jobless people is still in a higher percentage, and there are a lot of Filipinos who worked abroad as a domestic helper, even if they graduated degree courses like teachers.People were lack of opportunity and sometimes we have the so called,"lagay"(give a bribe)just to earn a formal position in their field of teaching, and be the first choice among others. Everyone wants always to be the first choice, first option, first priority. Is this some kind of selfishness among people? That's why we have the so called "crab mentality,"trying to pull down others just to become the first, throwing each other negative issues just to drag them down. This scenario happened in the real life, like in a husband and wife relationship, when the husband get home, all he wants is to be treated like a king, and even the wife was still tired of doing all day household chores ,she has no choice but to provide what the husband needs,to let them be the first one to be given attention. When I was in the line to get a national ID,the people were already a hundred plus and I was on number 88.While we are standing there,a woman shout on the front door where there is a guard ,because she wants to be prioritize first, she yell the man on the main door, and it create conflict among others who fall in line. Even here in our place during the water distribution, some of my neighbors have quarrelled because they argue of who will be the first one to get water early in the morning. While others complain that when they are on the last turn, they can't get enough. In every transactions,in any offices and departments, everybody wants to be the first (ako muna habit). We can also observed this at the very young age,the kids are also fighting because somebody intercept, whether young and adults people aims to be the first.Just like in giving "ayuda",or cash assistance. In these scenarios it seems that oftentimes "nobody wants to let go",or we can call it,magparaya para sa iba,at isipin muna ang kapakanan ng iba bago ang sarili. All of the presidentiables wants to win because they think that they are better than others, that they have the capacity among the rest.I just wish that after the election period, the one who will be choosen will served "the people first before themselves",and not to drag people down into chaos. And there will be no self interest that prevail. These are some lessons that sometimes hard to apply **To let go** Are you willing to give up your rights just to let others do their part.Or will a person will say,"cge, ikaw na muna mauna ate ,kuya",okay I'll let you first.Im so blessed with people who have the attitude like that, especially when there was an old woman, pregnant, inside the bus and there is no sit available, and when someone will stand and give up his/her sit for the old woman ,it makes me feel happy that there are still people who are willing to sacrifice standing along the way for the sake of others. **Give chance to others** Oftentimes, people wants to accumulate many things,a lot more, even if the others have nothing to left.It happens in some community pantries before, during the pandemic surge.Getting everything that they want even if there's nothing left with others. We can call it "gahaman",hakog in bisaya. But the most wonderful things if everyone will have the attitude of "willingness to share and to give others". **Bayan muna bago sarili(People first before self)** This is the most famous line ever since I'm in Grade school years. And it is also used by some candidates today. For me,it's a admirable act ,if a public servant will his/her responsibility among the people before thinking themselves.Which means they will not just grasp previleges that is given to them,or commit corruption. Sometimes it's hard, and pressure to be always on the top,to become the first all the time. When people are focusing on you,and looked at you. There are instances that being unnoticed can gives us peace and calmness in spirit. But it doesn't mean that were not working or doing our best,at least we are on the right track and we enjoyed it. Even in the road, the commuters, vehicles ,cars and buses were too busy because they want to go first. Are everybody's on a hurry today? The worlds turns so fast and it seems that people are also going on the flow, that in the end ,become restless, short tempered and pressured.
Why not be calmed, and walk along in the right time, and in the right pace. Salamat.

If in line and there are people that needs to be prioritized such as pregnant women, breastfeeding mooms, oldies and pwds, yes why not. If we are not in a hurry and we are more capable than them then let them be. Let us offer them our seats and make them the priority in lines. But during Election, we should learn to say ako muna before the candidates. Let us not be swayed easily by their nice words instead let us know them one by one, so we would be able to choose the best and the most capable among them all so that there will be no regrets in the end. As for the husband and wife's case, it should be clear that the two both have reasons to be tired. A working husband cannot assume that his wife is just sitting pretty all along. Household chores sometimes takes time and a lot of effort. They should learn to appreciate, respect and value each other's work. They should learn to help each other. And I thank you. Haha
Hahahha π,standing ovation sis,ang galing ng comment ,hehe. But I like your point with election concerns, ako muna tayo pagdating sa eleksyon, means isipin muna nila ang mga tao bago ang sarili nilang kapakanan.thanks for further ellaboration sis.
Char. You are welcome sis. Thanks too
I'm hoping that people have this kind of behaviours or attitudes sis but not all the time people like that. It's sad to say but it's the reality. There are people who are insensitive, they don't care other people feelings or situations. There's what we called selfishness, even in the bus sis I experience not good in my eyes. Some people don't feel mercy those who are needed. The world will be peaceful and less chaotic, or problem if we apply those you've mentioned sis. "People first before Self" I've heard it also many times sis especially those candidates who will running for politics but mostly ended into disappointment. I hope these candidates will truly serve in our country and full fill their promises to the people.
Yes sis,I hope for a new way ,with sincerity and serving for the sake of the people. That is why I don't rely on their promises because it might fail in the end. It's so sad that people were just striving to become highest against anyone, which is not good. But there are few also who are willing to give chance to others.
Yes it's always that's why people doesn't expect too much now because they realize when it comes to politics. Yes sis there are some people still having a good hearts to their co-individuals.
Naku sis , hindi na yata mawawala yan ganyan ugali ng tao. may mga instances talaga na mapapasabi ka na ako muna,,
Oo,may instances din na kailangan natin , I think it's considerable if it's vital for some reason sis and not in a greedy purpose.
Wala tayong aasahan sa mga salita nila, siguro pinakabestway talaga sa gawa e. Pag pumalya magsama-sama lahat at patalsikin sila π€§.
It's good talaga to give chance to others lalo na if mas need talaga nila.
