Honesty is a good conduct, fairness .While integrity is a strong moral principle of a person.
This pandemic that we experienced tests the integrity of a person.It comes to my mind after seeing the viral video online in relation to the community pantry made by the generous citizen which they gave a priviledge to the people who doesn't have food to get what they need for day.But due to human nature, there is a women who get all the food in the table, which gives a bad impression to this charity act.
Our integrity should not depend on a situation, if we are in crisis its not a reason to cheat or take advantage of other peoples generosity instead they should cooperate the right thing so that there will be a lot of people to give them.People who are in the right age should be aware with this because children have see this online and on tv, they look upon us, and what they see , is seems to be right for them.
This good character was shaped at home first and secondly to their environment and the community they are living in.
Other situation that shows integrity;
1.Dont let others be blame with our mistakes.
When I was a kid,I am a child who sometimes become a silly person, when I commit mistake or done something wrong,I'm pointing out my finger to my brother that's why he will run after me and throw me a stone.For the reason that my parents would punish him but they didn't know that I'm the one who did mistake.
It is a fact that people sometimes just keep on ignoring their mistakes and just let other be blame.But if we are a man of integrity, we would accept our failures and admit that we have in to prevent the conversation long.
2.Never betray a friend
Have you ever tries to be betrayed by a friend of even vulgar your deepest secret?Secrets that matters to us should remain to be hidden, but sometimes when we used to trusts a friend and that person will be tempted to tell other people.A person who have integrity never to tell your story without permission .If we are being entrusted with a secret, we should'nt betray a friend.
3.Excess change
Have you experienced buying on a grocery store an you have receive an excess change from the sales lady?It happens to me many times and it was very good feeling to do what is right like turning back excess change.Considering the fact that a fruit or vegetable vendor in the market have earn only enough for their daily meal and if we didn't do our part to help them it will add burden to them as well.Others may think that it was just a very small thing but if you will just realized it was one way that shows our integrity as a person.
4.On time
It's better late than never but early birds catches worms.
But we have the so called "Filipino time", what does it means to us, if you have a meeting at exactly 7 in the morning and you come at 8,thats what se called Filipino time.Actually, its not a nice expression of this words,it should be interpreted as " on time".If a person will come ahead of time we called it,"American time", its means being early.Being on time is also a form of having an integrity that shows sincerity to our job and commitments in life.
"What you do today, is what you will do everyday?"
Learning these things of having an integrity can be develop if it is practise daily, if we are working as a sales lady, crew, clerk, cashier, office staff, all of these type of works or whatever task do we have we need to be honest all the time.
One of an example with an office staff is that , one of the measurements of integrity in their work is if somebody would use a bond paper, stapler for personal purposes like bringing it home, or answering and printing assignments of their children through office supplies, these actions is showing of a person who fail to have an integrity.This might be very relatable , when I have an OJT on a government office , one of the staff assigned me to answer the assignment of her daughter and she gave me a snack when I do it.It gives me a guilt feeling that instead of doing my given task ,I have to do another one which is not a part of my work.
It is very disappointing in some ways, but it is also encouraging if we have it, integrity and honesty comes together , it is valuable in different areas of life.
Integrity will result into fairness and productive life,peaceful life and harmony.
