How to have a healthy mental health?

Mental health,this word is often misunderstood and sometimes those people who have this illness,suffer from bullying and being judged and says like "crazy".It was a big misinterpretation with this condition,here in this article will try to explain and give a better understanding of what is really a mental health disorders.Based on my experienced a lot of people discriminate someone who has this kind of illness,but the fact is,they really needs help and understanding,especially with the family should never dispised them.

Mental health issue is one of the recent issue that most people are facing right now with the pandemic.It can affect to everyone regardless of age and sexuality.

First of all mental health includes our emotional,psychological,and social well -being.This is pertaining to how we think,feel and act.Mental health is very important to our life from childhood to adulthood.

There are different types of mental health?

  • Mood disorder(depression or bipolar disorder)and other mood disorders-this usually happens to someone wjo have a first degree relative who has bipolar like mother,father or siblings.Also if there are period of high stress like when loved one dies and alcohol or drug abuse.

    It is treated throughmode stabilizing drugs.

  • Anxiety disorders,including panic disorder,obssessive,compulsive disorders or phobias.Another thing that a person can cause this is ,he is having a health condition,like hyperthyroidsm or a thyroid problem.

How to manage anxiety?

1.Take a rest-let your body rest from work or any forms of activity,give yourself a break.And make sure you have enough sleep.

2.Eat well balanced food-eat nutritious foods rather than junkfoods and limit alcohol intake and caffeine.

3.Develope a habit of being healthy like exercise everyday,jogging ,cycling,swimming.

4.Engage yourself with sports.It helps to improve yourself and divert your focus in a positive way.

  • Eating disorders-In this case the family has the reaponsibility to encouragr the person to eat.Give time to talk to him,make some initiatives like when he wake up midnight ,give him a midnight snack.And finally seek a professional advice.

  • Personality disorders-a personality condition of a person who have a unhealthy thinking and hard to relating prople,he always engage with trouble.The causes are,abuse,violence, and rejection.It can be manage through antidepressants or other medications or can undergo therapy.

  • Post traumatic stress disorder-they have the disturbing thoughts and feelings especially with their past experiences or they call it flashbacks,the tendency is to feel sad ,fear,and anger in this way they detached with people.

  • Psychotic disorders

Two types of psychotic disorders?

  • Schizophrenia-this illness have changes in behavior and symptoms like hallucinations which last for 6 months or longer.

  • Schizoaffective disorder-they suffer both schizophrenia and mood disorder like bipolar disorder.It can be cure through psychotherapy and medications.

According to mental health experts,the people are suffering mental illness during pandemic because of the health actions like social distsncing, where people became isolated.Being isolated can trigger stress and anxiety.Another thing is when their family were away from home like those who still work during pandemic .Anothers factors are:loss of income ,lack of basic needs,increase alcohol intake,insomnia and fear.Others are lead to stroke and people who have mental illness is a high risk with the virus.

Everyone is not exempted to suffer from this,but we should do our part and take courage with ourselves so that we can overcome this illness.

  • Here are some methods that will helped us boost our mental capacity:

  • 1.Meditation-it helped to have a better focus and improved self awareness.Read the word of God to gain more spiritual strength to empower ourselves from within.Draw close to God because God is near to those who are brokenhearted.

In facing this mental health issue we should be hopeful about this,there are a lot of ways and interventions to considered to prevent this condition.

Even I,have suffered from post traumatic mental disorders, for the past 5 years and but all I can say that you should have the courage to make yourself better.Do not let this condition pull you down.And all the tips that are written here ,honestly,it helps me a lot to recover.
