Water shortage ,high temperature,frequent rainy days,flooding and landslide from remote areas. Have you experienced this situations in your place?
Today,I'm gonna talk about climate change ,which I think a very broad topic to discuss,but I'm going to talk with what we have experienced.It a global problem,a worldwide situation which the government had to addressed.
As I watch the commercial on TV with some political candidates,I saw one of them who is elaborating climate change.This problem occurs not only today,but it already started before and to the coming generations.
When I was in highschool out teacher told us that climate change is cause by polutions ,smoke from factories and vehicles.Imagine that a single plastic will take a hundred years before it will decomposed or more,while it also takes a hundred years to grow some trees.
What we experienced lately?
WATER SHORTAGE
When I was a kid our place had a very abundant water source and spring ,and the river flows so well,the carabaos from the field can drink and take a bath in the afternoon.But now the river flows is still there ,but it's is not as good as before and the color looks different .
The water supply had a two days interval before we can have another container. It cannot afford to give the whole village ,and the people needs to find another alternative to find water .We still have a water source a few kilometers from where we live,but we need to have our own vehicle to carry our containers.The most difficult time is in the morning,when we have to take a bath before going to work and to washed our clothes.Sometimes the people will washed their laundries to the river,even if the water is not so clear but it still can help.We are still waiting for the local government to find a solution for our problem.
EXTREME WEATHER CHANGES
As of now,while I'm writing this article,the sun still shines so bright,unlike yesterday that it rained all day.There are times that the wind blows hard,and the crops of the farmers were damaged,and other houses are destroyed especially to those who are using light materials .
Have you observed that it feels so cooled at 3 to 4 in the morning and in the evening feels so hot.
The weather changes unexpectedly,and we have no control with all of these things that happened.The fact that the world is already living in an instant ways,and a lot of businesses and establishments that affects the climate.Even in our own home,we should be aware with our garbage disposal,and using electrical devices.We cannot stop using these things but I think there are some ways that we can minimize the damage.Like in our place,the plastic usage in the market are not allowed,and the local government have already implemented an ordinance,this step maybe simple but it can give great contribution,if everyone is following it.
FOOD SECURITY
Another effect of the climate is ,our food is easily destroyed,those foods that needs to be refrigerate should be put in a fridge to avoid food poisoning.I bought some fruits for the family and I observe that it will become soft and ripen if it will takes two to three days on the table and it will not be eaten by the kids.
The farmers also had a problem with planting vegetables because of a very poor water supply.Despite of this present realities that we had,everyone is still striving to make life better.
As we can see that the forest have already cut by some people who built tall buildings and other forms of establishments .Those are what we called manmade world,made of constructions supply while the mother earth is our natural habitat,our natural home which the creator have provided
I think all of us have the responsibility to care the nature,and whether it's too late to do our part,we still have time to do what is right to where we live .
Climate change is for real,it happens everyday , and we don't know when it will be solved,what ways we can at least prevent a future damages?
Simple steps to help the nature
Reuse
This can be applied in our home,like our plastic bottles,can be reuse in some purpose ,like making a Christmas decorations ,flowers and other ways to make a craft through it.Im glad that the students have learned this in school but it will be good to be applied at home,like planting flowers on a can and plasti containers .
Reduce
Reducing our wastes by preventing ourselves to use more plastic bags when we go for a grocery.Plastic is a problem because it will not be decomposed easily and it will be a burden with flooding areas.Also,by switching our lights off and unplugging apliances at night,can help reduce the heat of the earth.
Recycle
The recent news about recycling is about the face shields which are thrown by some people after hearing that there are places that are not required to wear it.And their face shields are thrown away into the garbage bin or sometimes in the road side.But we can still recycle this plastic waste through making a simple decorations at home.
These things maybe so familiar since we are a kid,but as for me sometimes it's not being applied.
As much as possible,our actions for this matter,starts at home.
