Can I improve myself? Is being a good person is not enough? How to become better? How did we protect our image of being a good person? A lot of people watch over us each day, whether we're doing right or wrong. Our life is being read by people around us, whether we like it or not. But are we aware of being a better person than to be good? Is being good is not enough?
Good is defined as to be desired or approved of. It's like saying that your good, but there's something better you can do. To become a better person is longing for the next level of improving ourselves. We are all imperfect persons, but at least we try. Being better means, "more excellent or effective type of quality ".
There are ways to cultivate our qualities of being good, like donating to charity, giving food to hungry people, and other good deeds. It's just right. But being a better person takes a place within us, it's not just the outward act of being good but it comes from within us. It's more of a total package in dealing with life situations, and self seeing with our thoughts and words, the sense of being happy from the inside. Just like making a birthday cake and you have already a finished product and there you put some icing into it and design but you did not put the word, Happy Birthday, on the top and the candle. So someone says, I think next time it's much better if you put a message through a cake. Another example, there was an old woman who asks for direction, and you tell him " you have to cross the street", and you see her having difficulty to walk through it. And you said, I think it's much better if I walk through that road with you. Isn't it? As much as possible there would be a better option every day in our life, and ourselves that we need to discover or maybe learn. Right now, I'm writing this article through my cellphone, but I think it's much better to use a laptop because I can use a lot of features, so I discover a goal this year 2020.
We're talking about becoming better being a person, I know sometimes it's hard, just like me I'm still learning to become a better wife and a mother. But first of all, to be a better version of myself will help me a lot.
This thing would be helpful.
1.Try Digital detox
The word detox is usually used when talking about facial products, but this time may I borrow this one. Detox with digital means to pause or disconnect for at least a day within a week or an hour within a day. Why? Try to connect with real people outside, have a conversation with your neighbors, or relax and feel entire. Maybe a lot of people are using digital formats with work, and gaming online, and other side jobs to earn money. This is to drain ourselves with all the things that we face every day online. To unwind ourselves and breathe fresh air would help us.
Did you know that exposure to blue light will help increase the risk of age degenerated macular disease, it is a proto toxic effect. Like dry form, in which a person can experience vision changes, and wet form which will result in vessels leak blood and fluid in the retina.
2.Self-care
Taking care of ourselves is at least one of our priority each day. This is to nurture oneself and providing with nutrition, proper hygiene. To take care of our own is to take care of our family so we will be with them for some time. Learn to say no to things, or food that will harm your health, exercise, take enough sleep, and plenty of water every day.
3.Resilience
(Matatag, matibay)in Filipino translation.Means, immovable, or the quality of going on despite the dark or unacceptable events of life. Resiliency is one character that we need today, due to the crisis that we had we all need to be resilient. Because we're not, we will be living a miserable life each day, a lot of frustrations, fear, and doubts in life. We have a lot of reasons to be resilient like our family and with what we have that inspires us of living. Unload all negative thoughts and load positive thoughts.
4.Politeness
Behaving properly or having a good manner. We've been taught by our teachers in school grade school about good manners and right conduct. It is vital in our daily life, to be able to gain respect. Be polite in every aspect of our work, at home, or outside our perimeter. This is to be done through listening and be understanding in every way, avoid insulting people, say sorry when we commit mistakes.
4.Sacrifice
Is something you've given up for the good of others.Like giving your unused things to needy people. To sacrifice is to show that you care and give importance to the people around you.
5.Decide and commit
To make ourselves better we need to decide for a better one and commit to a new level of improving ourselves. As for me, I'm always been triggered by the people around me when I hear them talking about something which I think they are boosting themselves and have their admiration on their own. But I decided not to focus on these people, because they will just drag me into trouble.
6.Discernment
This quality is important to keep us from hurting other people breaking relationship. It is the ability to see the result of our actions or to anticipate things that may come before us.
This coming year 2020 I think one of the new year's resolutions that I'd like to make is to be better. Or it's not gonna be a new year's resolution but a goal to pursue this year, more than achieving things this 2020.
Of course, we will not do this alone, for God is with us.
7.Improve me
More than anything else we need this so that whatever trials we are going to face in the coming year we will stand still and life must go on for the "Better" .
