Back to school in August 22
After 2 years of the pandemic, when the kids stopped going to school, they are in modular and online classes. I observed from my children, is that they don't learn much because they cannot understand some of their modules. And as a parent, I find it hard too, especially when we are too busy doing things for our living.
After our Department of Education Secretary, Vice-President Sarah Duterte has announced that the face-to-face class is already finalized to start on August 22, 2022. She explained a lot of things and supported a research paper before she come up with the proposal which was signed by the President of the Philippines.
Here are some important things that we should know:
Wearing a mask
People all around the world are very open to wearing a mask due to the pandemic, and this should be constantly practiced during the face to face learning. The students should wear a mask every time they go to school. So, it means I need to get ready dozens of masks for this school year because I have two kids. Masks should be replaced day by day, I think I can save money when I buy masks per pack rather than one by one.
Hand Washing or alcohol, sanitizer
This is another basic health protocol that the school and students should follow, to maintain the prevention of the spread of viruses in the school.
Unwell students should not report to school
The parents should constantly check their children if they are in good health or not. If a student is not feeling better, the parent is advised to let their child stay at home and get well, before they can go back to school.
There is no discrimination with the vaccinated and the unvaccinated
This was good news for me because my kids are afraid to get the vaccine, but they want to continue their studies. I thought that my children will still be in modular class because they are unvaccinated. But, the secretary has said, there they are allowed to mingle with each other just like the kids who are bonding in the house, and on the ground where they play.
Finally, this statement has put an end to the argument with some parents that vaccination is a must. I didn't say that we should not be vaccinated but I'm just happy that those who choose not to be vaccinated are not forced to do so.
Vaccine is not mandatory that's why students are allowed to go to school
Yeah, there is no mandate that vaccine is mandatory for students, and this issue will somehow cause arguments by many a few months ago. But, I was just glad that the Vice President have considered the choices of people and also with parents who didn't allow their kids to get vaccinated.
I am very happy for the kids all over the country, they can go back to their normal life slowly. Some of them are traumatized because of fear of the past circumstances of the country. They can finally play with their classmates again in school, which my daughter has missed already. She is very excited to buy school supplies for the opening of the class.
The prices of basic needs are higher d know that school supplies will not be expected by this. Parents are now thinking to buy school supplies, shoes, pants, and other things that they need, also their uniforms and tumblers.
There's an excitement in their eyes when they knew that the class of this school year will be realized.
I am excited to be back in my routine, the cooking hour is a bit earlier than usual because the children will be late if I will not wake up ahead of time.
Education is very relevant, as much as possible our children should all be given the privilege to have it. And this school year that is about to start next month is one way to awaken the students to start over again. Honestly, some students are discouraged and got low grades because of the pandemic and discrimination that they have experienced, especially the unvaccinated who are not allowed to enter their respective schools. At least, they are now given equal rights to go to school.
I've realized that I should not complain when my kids will be asked for "baon" or sa nack when they go to school this time because it simply means that they are back on track again. My heart was happy for the kids and every student to finally be able to wear their uniforms once again and polished their shoes, even if it means to become an alarm clock and telling them in the morning. I will now enjoy this moment that they are schooling, we never know what will happen in the future, we're there be a new crisis or why, let the children play, smile, and learn.
They need it all for their growth and to become mature in the coming years of their life. The children who are still learning will help to established their potential to become a leader of this country, that's why they deserved to continue their studies properly.
I am grateful that you visit here
It's Sunday we're here in my hometown to visit my parents and attend our Sunday service in the church.
