Garden of Thanksgiving I want to share with you the last site we visited yesterday for our Via Crucis or The Way of the Cross. It was located inside the compound of the Archbishop Palace in Cebu. We asked the guard that we want to continue our Way of the Cross and he pointed us to go further and warned that there were many people around and parking was difficult. Anyway we still proceeded and he was right. The road was narrower since cars were parked at the road side. We were lucky to wait for a few minutes to find a good parking spot. I scanned the area and indeed a lot of people were there like families with kids, friends/barkadas, and couples. Even though there were bc lots of people, you can still feel the solemnity and holiness of the place. This area is called Eukaristiya – Garden of Thanksgiving. We can see the Archbishop's Palace adjacent to the site. The Eukaristiya is well known as a sanctuary where pilgrims can come to pray and meditate. It's my first time to visit this area. The garden had life size statues representing the 14 Stations of the Cross. There was also a statue of Jesus Agony in the Garden. We went straight to the 13th and 14th Stations since we were done with the other stations in the previous churches we visited. While we were praying at the 14th Station I noticed bells ringing at random order. People were ringing the "Prayer Intention Bells beside the huge Cross Tower. I also tried ringing the bells for my prayer intentions. One of the highlights in this garden is the huge Cross Tower. It stood at 40meters high equivalent to a 12-story building. There's also a short walkway surrounded by a pond called Walk on Water connecting the garden and the Cross Tower. I was so amazed looking at this garden. It was a very memorable experience for me and my family. Have a great evening my friends.
