Kwentong SkyFlakes Kaninang umaga, may binatilyo po na kumatok sa gate at timing nasa labas po ako at inaayos ang mga sinampay ng aking anak. Humihingi po siya ng lumang tinapay para kakainin kasi gutom daw po siya. Sinabi ko sa kanya na wala po ako tinapay na luma pero meron po ako biscuit. Narinig po ng aking anak na inalok ko ng biscuit ang binatilyo kaya kumuha siya agad SkyFlakes. I gave him 3 packs. When I gave the biscuits to the boy, he asked me if I know of anyone who wants their car to be washed or grasses to be pulled so that he can work and have some cash so that he can go home to Asturias, Cebu ( a municipality located on the northwestern side of Cebu ). I asked him why he is now in the city, and his reason... he is looking for a job. Since I can't recommend him to work and I pity the boy, I gave him the last money I had which was P50. A neighbor also gave him a mask because he was not using any mask. My daughter got back inside the house and got a liter of mineral water and gave it to the boy. It was scorching hot and our gate had no shade so our neighbor guided him to sit under the shade while he was eating his biscuits. I told him to go to the barangay but he said that the barangay people were not able to help because they don't have salary yet. This made me think that life must be so difficult in the municipalities because he went out of his way to look for a job in the city but sad that he failed. I admired that he did not beg for money but offered his services to earn. He was even hesitant to receive my P50 but I told him to get it so that he will just look for a little more additional to be able to go back home. Had I have more money , I would gladly share it with him but my money was already spent for the puto and fish which I bought earlier in the morning. I pray that some neighbors will also help him. Lord please guide his path and let him go home safely.
