KALANGGAMAN ISLAND I would like to share with you a photo that I shot in February 2019 when I visited Kalanggaman Island. I have always dreamed of visiting this island. It is located in Palompon, Leyte. When a close friend from US came to our city together with his wife, they invited me to join them at Kalanggaman Island. My friend's roots are in Palompon and he is celebrating his birthday in the island with some friends and family. I was hesitant at first to accept the invitation because I was the only one invited from among all of our common friends. His wife assured me that it's ok because some of her friends were also coming. It's good that I am also close with his wife. Because of my desire to reach Kalanggaman Island, I accepted the invite and joined them traveling from Cebu to Ormoc via Supercat. When we arrived at Ormoc, my friend's niece came and picked us up to go to Palompon where we stayed for 2 nights. My friend had arranged a tour company to handle everything...tourism permits,boat ride to ferry us to the island and also prepared the food, tables and chairs we used. It was a great experience! When we arrived at the island, it was like a paradise!I was in awe of it's crystal clear waters with varying colors at different distances from the shore. It has beautiful sand bars. There were no huts except for a police outpost. I hope they can maintain the natural beauty and cleanliness of the island. Our tour guide set up the tables and chairs under the coconut trees to have some shade. They also did the food preparation we while we roamed around and had a dip in the sea. We had our sumptuous lunch complete with sea foods ( shrimp, crab, fish and squid), buttered chicken , grilled pork belly and fruits in season. Oh, I had a very memorable experience visiting Kalanggaman Island. I also gained some new friends. I wish I will have another chance to visit Kalanggaman Island with my family too. Good night.
