Metamorphosis We learned that a butterfly life cycle has four stages. These are 1. The egg, 2. The larva or caterpillar, 3. The pupa or chrysalis and 4. The Adult butterfly. Each of these stages are unique to different butterfly species. The photo I snapped is the Pupa or Chrysalis stage. It is at this stage where the caterpillar goes through a spectacular change of Metamorphosis. The old caterpillar will later on change into a beautiful butterfly. Isn't it an amazing world of nature? I hope I can see when the butterfly emerges! I took this photo in my garden this morning 07212021.
