Monday is one of our garbage collection days. I want to honor our Community Workers in charged with garbage collection under the Solid Waste Management Division of our Barangay. These team regularly come to our area every Monday and Thursday in the morning. The neighbors will prepare their trash inside containers for proper collection and disposal. I remembered that the garbage are to be segregated as Biodegradable or Non Biodegradable. During the Initial implementation of the law, citizens were obliged to follow or else their garbage will be left behind. After many months, now years, the citizens got tired of segregating their garbage so these collectors do segregation upon getting the trash. They segregate plastic bottles and place them in a big container seen above the front seats of the truck. They also segregate cardboards and glass bottles and put them in separate containers. I admire the patience and diligence of these workers even at this time of pandemic they continue to serve.
