Reminiscing the good old days. I was looking at my old 1989 photo album and remembered our life and travels 32 years ago. We were a young family then. I can't imagine 32 years had passed! I only had 2 little kids at the time. My eldest daughter was almost 4 years old while my second child was 1 year and 7 months old. I already resigned from my job and became a full time mom. My kids and I joined my hubby at the country where he worked. It was during my husband's vacation in 1989 that we decided to pass by Europe before going back to the Philippines. Our itinerary was London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Singapore then back to our country. It's always fun to reminisce the beautiful and happy days we experienced in life. The 1989 trip was very memorable to me because I was able to celebrate my 32nd birthday in two beautiful places , Paris and Rome. It was in Rome where we attended a mass at St. Peter's Basilica for my birthday. We visited the Basilica and I was so happy on that day having attended a special mass. The following day, we were also lucky to attend an audience with Pope John Paul II, now St. John Paul II. There were so many people who wanted to get in. We heard that they have reserved months ahead to attend the Papal Audience. We did not have any reservations. But we really wanted to experience the Papal Audience. We were just lucky when we entered the area, there was a group of devotees who are entering towards the Audience Hall and we followed them. We were able to get inside the Hall! God paved the way for us to see the Holy Father. I can still recall the feeling I had when the Holy Father passed by near our seats. I felt so light and I can feel the blessings the Holy Father was giving us. That was a "once in a lifetime experience"! Well, this post is getting longer.
