Turnsole or Trompang Elepante Are you familiar with this plant? We call this Elepante or Trompang Elepante. It is also known as Turnsole, or Heliotropium Indicum, according to the Plant Identifier. The common name is Scorpion Weed or Indian Heliotrope. I have many Elepante plants now growing in my garden. At first I thought they were weeds but when I saw the flowers, then I recognized them. I remembered this plant because this is very useful for women who just gave birth and had"bughat" or "binat". Women who just gave birth sometimes experienced body distress and exhaustion. I experienced this "bughat" before and I suffered a terrible headache like some machine was drilling on my head. My mother got some Elepante roots and boiled it. She had me drank about a cupful of the warm liquid concoction. And do you know what happened? All the dreadful pain were gone instantly! I was so amazed with this plant. It healed my pain like magic. There are still other uses of this plant ( according to Mr Google) like as antibacterial, anti oxidant, anti inflammatory, wound healing, diuretic and many more. These plants are here within our reach. We thank our Lord for giving us natural plants and herbs that can heal our aching bodies.
