Tribute to Retired Teachers This afternoon, while we were still having our bonding with our recently widowed Auntie, we were surprised with a group of people singing and looking for our Auntie. Oh, they were her old elementary school students visiting their retired teacher to cheer her up and to show their appreciation and gratitude to their teacher. It was timely because 3 retired teachers ( my Auntie and her 2 cousins) were at the venue at this time. They taught in the same school within our barangay. All three went out to receive their students who gave them some gifts. I can see that my Auntie and her cousins were all surprised and happy. Their students serenaded them with beautiful songs and gave them bouquet of roses, cakes, picture frame with their teacher's name and photo, mugs with their names and faces printed, and a gift certificate worth P1000. They also shared the memories they had with their teachers. Isn't it a generous gesture of being grateful to our old teachers? I commend their organization and the support they gave to their beloved teachers. A very good surprise tribute to their teachers. This is their way of celebrating National Teachers Month. My Auntie also offered food for them since there were still a lot of food left after our lunch. The group went home filled with laughter , happy memories and full tummies! Have a great evening.
