For this weeks Share your battle entry i give you a fierce battle of Earth and Dragons against Water!

Djinn Chwala

Dawn of the Djinn 4 of 4 - Only a short time after the Djinn were released, most of them were already seeing their elemental captivity as a blessing rather than a curse. They had far greater power than before, now that they were working with the force of the Planet at their backs. Pursuit of power was at the core of Belludae beliefs, so most of them would make small sacrifices for greater power.
The Djinn have not all found one another, and it will be difficult for them to do so since many of them reside in different elements. This is why several of the Djinn have submitted themselves as cards in the Moxian games, so they can connect with their lost brethren. Gradually they will come together to Praetoria as part of the last lines of defense, channeling the power of the Planet into an impenetrable wall to hold back the Chaos Legion.

Card data:

  • Edition: Reward

  • Rarity: Epic

  • Element: Dragon

  • CP 100 (normal) / 2500 (gold foil)

  • Cost: level 1 (2 in gold): $0.65 (normal) / $16.81 (gold foil)

  • Rental: 0.193 DEC / Day (normal) / 5.7 DEC/Day (gold foil)

Djinn Chwala is a real great card to be played as tank due to it high health (9 for a level 1 card) and defense. What's even greater, is that it has the thorn ability from level making this an ideal card to be played against Water and Fire decks now that Alric Stormbringer isn't part of the base set anymore.

And despite its higher mana costs, i usually play it from 18 mana and up games.

Pro's

  • 5 Defense

  • 9 health

  • Thorn

  • Great against Water and Fire decks

Con's

  • 8 mana cost

Tactics And Ruleset

  • Mana Cap: 27

  • Splinters: All

  • Normal Ruleset

For this battle i chose the Djinn to be my tank for the high defense. Once the battle loaded i saw i made the right call because my opponent was busy doing a daily reward with the Water splinter (5 battles in a row with the same splinter 😉) meaning his team would have several, if not most of the monsters being of the melee type.

I chose the earth for this battle w i also rent Queen Mycelia from the earth splinter a lot, which gives an additional 2 defense and this in combination with the 1 defense of the Summoner would get me an extra 3 defense on the Djinn. In addition to the Queen, i also chose the Goblin Psychic for the healing and swamp thing for the weaken.

Teams

My Team

  • Splinter: Water

  • Summoner: Drake of Arnak, Buff: +1 Defense

  • Tank: Djinn Chwala, Thorn

  • 2nd Line: Queen Mycelia, Protect

  • 3rd Line: Goblin Psychic, Tank heal

  • 4th Line: Swamp Thing, Weaken

  • 5th Line: Djinn Biljka, Camouflage

Opponent's Team

  • Splinter: Water

  • Summoner: Kelya Frendul, Buff: +1 Speed, +1 Defense

  • Tank: Cruel Sethropod

  • 2nd Line: Angelic Mandarin

  • 3rd Line: Ice Pixie Flying

  • 4th Line: Deeplurker, Opportunity

  • 5th Line: Feasting Seaweed, Opportunity

  • 6th Line: Sniping Narwhal, Snipe

Round 1

The combination of the drake and the queen gave the Djinn a whopping 8 defense at the start of the battle. Because of the 2 opportunity monster my opponent had, by the end of the first round our healing Psychic goblin had only 1 life, but there were no casualties on my side. My opponent on the other hand lost it's tank, and with a range monster in second position, this one would become tank food.

Round 2

Here the Deeplurker took down my Goblin which wasn't that bad because my tank only took 1 damage from the ice pixies magic attack. Unfortunately my queen of defense took a beating and entered round 3 without defense and only 2 lives left.

Round 3

This round the queen gets taken out on the first hit of narwhal, destroying my additional defense across the field. But the djinn instantly took sethropod of my opponent, and Djinn Biljka took out the ice pixie just after the feasting seaweed damaged our swamp thing.

Round 4

In round 4, the camouflage of Djinn Biljka did its work, because now the feasting seaweed and the narwhal would attack my tank, and would defend itself with the thorn ability on the seaweed. But not after they took out our swamp thing.

Round 5

Round 5 would mean the end of the deeplurker and feasting seaweed because of the thorn defense of Djinn Chwala. Making the Narwhal my opponents last monster, leaving it to be destroyed in round 6 & 7 without the ability to attack.

Conclusion

The combination of extra defense from the earth Queen and the Summoner, and the thorn ability of Djinn Chwala is really great against melee enemies. And in this case it granted me the win.

If you don't own this card, i would say it's definitely worth to pick up for a price of 65 cents and add it to your collection.

I hope you enjoyed my entry for this weeks battle, and hope to see you in the next!
