The Philippines are facing so much problems today. Problems that hinders the country to prosper. Some of these problems are poverty, criminality, government corruption and so much more. But out of these problems, poverty is the biggest problem our country is facing.

Many Filipino people are suffering from poverty because of unemployment, lack of education and government corruption. As a result, many of the citizens experience hunger because they have no food to eat, if lucky enough, it's enough for them to eat twice or once a day. In order to fill their stomachs, some Filipinos are forced to eat what is so called "pagpag".

"Pagpag" is the leftover food from eateries or restaurants that other citizens are taking to cook again and take advantage of just to fill their stomachs. These leftovers are taken to a place where it will be dumped to be disposed. But some Filipino citizens are patiently waiting for these leftovers for them to take it home and recycle. They will cook it again for the sake of their family, some makes it a living and sell it for a cheap price.

This is just one out of many situations that reflects the reality of the country. This is just one reality that shows the hardships and poverty that every Filipino are experiencing. Sometimes poverty is the cause of unwanted acts by other Filipinos. They prefer to do illegal acts just to survive. An example of this is illegal fishing, some of the fishermen are using explosives to catch fish and sell them in the market. Even at the market they also cheat to sell easily. They trick their customers by making the fishes look fresh. This situation only proves that in order to survive, some of us choose to deceive or harm other people. These problems are the reasons why Filipinos cannot rise and nailed into poverty.

This is a reality check. We can't easily say that they are not doing their best to get out of poverty but because they are underprivileged that nobody wants to help.

It's not about the effort that should be blamed but because they are being deprived to opportunities.
