Getting to Know Japanese Terms in Anime Series
Now with the development of technology, it is easier for people to access the internet, especially to access movies as entertainment.
This time, I will discuss cartoons from Japan or often known as Anime. After I learned, by watching anime I was able to find out some important insights related to culture, language, building structures and so on about Japan.
By watching anime, we must often hear terms that are often used by the anime characters, even to the point of thinking in our minds, so that by frequently watching anime, our brains will spontaneously remember the language patterns that are often thrown from the anime.
Maybe for those of you who often watch anime, you must have experienced the same thing, thinking about some of the vocabulary in anime so that it brings up the characteristics that exist in anime. Therefore, we will look at some vocabulary terms in anime that are quite familiar to the ears of anime lovers.
1. Baka
Baka which means "stupid" in Japanese. This word often appears when someone expresses his anger at someone else, or it can also appear to make fun of someone as a joke. Anime often uses this vocabulary as a funny moment.
2. Kawaii
Kawaii which means "Cute". Usually the vocabulary appears when someone wants to express how fascinated he is by what he sees. For example, he sees a cat and thinks that the cat is very cute, then a sentence like this will appear "Neko o mite, kare wa kawaii" (look at that cat, isn't he very cute/cute).
3. Sugoi / Subarashii
Sugoi or "Great", or you can think of it as a form of someone's admiration for something. This vocabulary often appears when someone makes you feel amazed by something. Example "Kare wa subarashii" (He's really great)
4. Nani
Nani which means "What". To be honest this word is quite common, but if you watch anime, this vocabulary "what" or "Nani" often appears with a ridiculous dialect and expression, often used as a joke moment, such as its long pronunciation at the end, "Naniiiiiii" and revealing its shape. strange expression on his face.
5. Onii-chan / Onee-chan
Onii-chan which means older brother and Onee-chan which means older sister. This vocabulary is very easy to memorize and also often appears because the majority of characters in anime have older siblings.
6. Daijobu
Daijobu which means "alright". This vocabulary appears when someone explains about his condition that he is fine, or if you add "ka" behind to become Daijobuka, then the meaning becomes "are you okay?"
7. Hentai
Hentai in Japanese means "weird", but unfortunately the term hentai is often a sexual presumption. In fact, this vocabulary describes someone who has a fetish or a strange taste for something, and is not limited by pornographic elements.
Basically, this is just my opinion on vocabulary that is quite familiar to anime lovers ears. You can judge right and wrong for yourself.
