Farmer boy since childhood
Since I was a child, I was born into a farming family, everything is very simple but so meaningful, I can take many lessons about the meaning of life.
Being a farmer must work hard and be patient, because there will be so many processes that must be passed, not all of them will be sweet, but trying with all your might and mind will definitely bear fruit.
Becoming a rice farmer will be a very long process, to produce rice that is ready to be eaten, since I was a child I often saw what my father did when farming rice, which I know there are 6 processes.
1* Preparation of planting media
Planting media for planting rice must be prepared at least two weeks before planting. Preparation is done by cultivating the soil as a planting medium. The soil must be ensured to be free of weeds and weeds. Do not let the growth of rice plants be disturbed because they have to share nutrients and water with the weeds. When it is free of weeds, moisten the soil with water and then do the plowing. Plowing is done to prepare the soil in a soft and loose state and suitable for planting. In this modern era, piracy is no longer done by hoeing but by using cows or tractors. After going through piracy, re-flood the planting media with water. Water is given in large quantities to cover the entire land with a height of up to 10 cm. Let the water in the growing media continue to stagnate. Stagnant water for two weeks will cause the planting medium to become muddy and poison can be lost because it is neutralized.
2*Seed selection
Seedlings in rice plants must be tested first to determine their quality. The test was carried out by soaking about 100 grains of rice seeds in water. After two hours check the seeds. The way to plant rice seeds is by checking the seeds by identifying changes in the seeds. If there are more than 90 seeds or more than 90% of the seeds sprout, it means that the seeds are of superior quality and high quality. Of course, these superior and high-quality seeds deserve to be cultivated. Meanwhile, if the seeds do not show signs as mentioned above, it means that the seeds are not recommended for cultivation. After determining the seeds to be used as seeds, the nursery can be done immediately.
3*Nursery
Nurseries are carried out after determining the superior seeds. The superior seeds will then be sown in the nursery. Nursery containers must first be prepared. the seedling container is given in a ratio of 1: 20. Assume that you will use 1 hectare of rice field, so the nursery container is about 500 m2. The land in the nursery container is also equipped and muddy. Apply urea and TSP fertilizer to the nursery with a dose of 10 g per 1 m2 each. When the nursery is ready, spread the germinated seeds evenly.
4*planting
The planting process is carried out after the seeds in the nursery process have grown three to four perfect leaves. The period from nursery to ready-to-plant seedlings is generally about 12 to 14 days. If you are ready to plant, transfer the seeds from the nursery to the planting area. Transfers are carried out carefully and do not damage the plant. Planting is carried out in prepared planting holes. Especially for rice plants in one hole, two seeds can be planted at once. Planting is done by inserting the root to form the letter L so that the roots can grow perfectly. The depth of the seeds planted was determined to range from 1 cm to 15 cm. It is better to plant rice twice a year based on the ideal planting period.
5*Prevention of pests and diseases
Pests and diseases can be prevented by applying pesticides.
6*Harvest
Harvesting is done with signs of yellowing and drooping of rice. Use a serrated sickle to harvest and place the crop on a mat by threshing the rice from within the existing grain.
That is the process of planting rice correctly sequentially. If rice is planted properly and correctly, the results will be satisfactory and profitable.
I learned all that from a young age and in the future I will also continue the struggle of my father, of course being a rice farmer, a farmer is a hero for every life.
