Today is Groundhog Day. According to popular belief, today groundhog exits its pit for the first time in new year. If today is sunny and the groundhog see its shadow, he will run back into the pit and six more weeks of winter weather remains. Although this holiday is not celebrated in my country, I like it. Partially due to great movie Groundhog Day, partially because I have encountered marmots many times during the years of hiking and mountaineering in the Alps. I remember once I meet a very friendly marmot who agreed to pose for me for a few minutes.
