This are the ruins of the ancient church of Arača somewhere in the middle of the Vojvodina plain. The scene is completely unexpected. Tens of kilometers in any direction, you will find only fields of corn, sunflowers and grain. History says that the first church on this location was built in the 11th century. One hundred years later, Arača was built on the foundations of that church. Many legends are told about this church. One is that Attila the Hun hid a huge treasure near her. Another legend, for which there are historical testimonies, says that Richard the Lionheart took refuge in the church after the Third Crusade to cure the wounds with healing mud from a nearby salt mine. However, the most beautiful legend for me is that this church heals the spirit of those whose hearts are broken. It is not unusual in the church at dawn to find those who have decided to spend the night in the ruins of the church in search of their lost happiness.
