In the end, I didn’t finish a story about that winter hike to Hallstatt. I am not going to finish it even now, to be completely honest. It's a long story. After hiking to Lake Hallstatt, I found a small hiking trail that meandered into the mountain. Although at the beginning of the trail it was a sign that it was closed, I met a couple of mountain rangers who were working on maintaining the trail. With their blessing, I decided to walk the trail just a few more miles.
