There is a place on Old Mountain in southeastern Serbia where a mountain river flows over blood-red rocks, creating one of the most beautiful scenes this mountain has to offer. This strict nature reserve is called Arbinje. The crystal clear Dojkinac river springs at 1800 meters above sea level and flows through Arbinje for almost its entire course to end 26 kilometers further and 1100 meters lower, flowing into the Visocica river. In summer, these rocks are full of hikers, visitors and even swimmers, although the water temperature is around 15 degrees Celsius even in the warmest months. Oh God, how beautiful it is, the freshest water, the greenness of the trees around it and the blue of the sky. It is a wonderful painting. How I would like to be there and take pictures and practice my favorite ritual of smoking a hookah.
