Today is the day of Saint Trifun in Serbia. He was the protector of love and winemakers. In the rest of the world, it is Valentine's Day. My grandfather had a vineyard up on a hill overlooking the Morava River, just outside of Smederevo city. I remember as a kid I loved to ride in a carriage pulled by our faithful horse - White. Of course, the horse was not even close to white, it was ordinary and completely inconspicuously muddy gray, but ... my grandfather was against the whole world ... as some would say. The vineyard was small, unsuccessful, the grapes were drying and withering because they build an ironworks there in Smederevo. Ironworks which polluted our land and painted it in red. But my grandfather was stubborn, I inherited that from him, and as a result - every winter we tried not to make a sour-disgusting face when we tried his latest wine. Grandpa hasn't been with us for a long time. Neither the vineyard. I hope that that old guy plows the heavenly fields and enjoys some delicious wines now... finally... Hey old guy ... papa ... I had no one to share a glass of wine with in the name of love, but I thought of you! And appropriately, in memory of our vineyard, I opened a wine called Three Morava Rivers. Cheers! #photography #wine #valentines #love #SaintTrifun
