Let me write something about the Second World War, which is nice to share with you

The Battle of Sutjeska took place in June 1943, it was the fifth enemy offensive and the decisive battle that took place. In that battle, the Yugoslav partisans made a breakthrough from the Oswin ring, defeating the German forces.

The warring parties were: Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, and the Independent State of Croatia

NOVJ is the national liberation army and partisan detachment of Yugoslavia, it was formed in 1941 with the formation of the first partisan detachments, and in March 1945 they grew into the army of Yugoslavia. Seven brigades gathered on May 31 in the area between Piva and Sutjeska. On June 5 and 7, there were the first attempts to a breakthrough in front of the enemy in the lower course of the Sutjeska, but unfortunately, it was not successful.

In the morning hours of June 10, the First Proletarian Division broke up the Hohne battle group and fell into the enemy's ring near Sutjeska.

The next night, the Supreme Headquarters with the second propeller division crossed into Sutjeska. The Third Division, together with the wounded, was decimated in the breakthrough over Sutjeska on June 13.

Those parts around the hospital remained surrounded, the wounded and medical staff were killed. The loss of these Partisans was great, about 7,500 partisans were killed, which was a little more than that third of those who took part in the fighting. In addition to very difficult conditions, great physical effort, heavy losses, and great famine, the NOVJ forces maintained a high level of fighting, which the enemy acknowledged.

Immediately after the breakthrough, the NOVJ went on the counter-offensive in the part of eastern Bosnia, clearing the fortifications in Srebrenica, Vlasenica, Kladanj, and Zvornik for the next 20 days.

Partisans in the ring:

In places such as Licka, Koliba, Kosuta, Vrbnica, Tjenista, which lie in the valley of the river Sutjeska, very difficult battles were fought in the second phase of the operation called "Schwartz", which is why the battle was named "Battle of Sutjeska".

The NOVJ also had its own central hospital with about 3,000 wounded, of whom as many as 1,000 were infected with typhus. Typhoid is a disease that causes fever, abdominal pain, and decreased heart rate. He was responsible for a huge number of deaths in World War II.

- This is Kača Popović who came up with the idea to drag the division where there is no road, under the rocks of Ozren and Lastva, near Kosur, where the forces of the 118th German division were, and then to the Port huts. The crossing itself was very risky and patient because it was very close to enemy forces. After questioning German positions in small groups, the Commander of the First Proletarian Division ordered a breakthrough on June 9 in the only possible place. The extraction from the ring began early in the morning on June 10, when the First Proletarian Brigade overran the Hogne fighting group. Commander Danilo Lekić also contributed greatly to the success of this operation. The battle began in May and ended in June.

This is a common picture of Popovic and Lekic
