Why There's No Essential Difference Between the U.S. and Nazi Governments

Disclaimer: This post is largely a thought exploration and informational resource. I have been constantly updating and revising it. If it seems clunky or insensitive or outright fucking stupid and insensitive, just take what you need of the resources linked and leave, or let me know your gripes. Learning about history — and especially when dealing with such a sensitive topic — is a painstaking process which guarantees I’m going to be mistaken at times, but nonetheless, I think these ideas and questions need to be explored. My goal is to point out that in politics, nothing ever changes, and people weren’t more “innocent” before, back in the good old days of the USA. War was not more justified, and there are no heroes in violent nationalism. At the end of the day, though, while I think I made some kind of point, all that really matters is to know that life is precious and comparing one murder cults to another is a sad exercise. Nonetheless, I had to explore some things.

United SStates of Nazi-America

The definition of “essence” pictured above should provide a solid enough basis from which to begin, in order to effectively argue my point here: There is essentially no difference between what constituted the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nazis) of the 20th century, and the United States government, both then and now.

“Government” being the abstract concept representing concrete groups of human individuals claiming the right to leverage a legal monopoly on violence over the others. The two groups under discussion — the Nazi and United States governments — are qualitatively the same in that:

• They massacre(d) astronomical numbers of non-violent individuals systematically and intentionally.

• They use(d) mass propaganda and outright lies about the other side to justify and “sell” mass murder and prejudiced, violent discrimination to “their” respective populaces, in essence saying: “Our brand of violence is good, theirs is evil. If we do nothing, they will prevail.”

• They target(ed) ethnic/ideological/dissenting groups in relocation campaigns and eugenics death campaigns to erase them from specific regions, resulting in sickness, death, and the destruction and separation of families, and engaged in rape, murder, and other violations.

This may all sound very obvious and “old hat” to the individual familiar with U.S. government atrocities. However, this article will likely end up bordering on what some might even call “Holocaust denial,” as part of my goal is to demonstrate the extent to which United States and Allied propagandists tried to hide their massacre and genocidal mass murder campaigns and ideations — as well as literal complicity with the Nazis — by pointing fingers at the end of WWII, and piling a bit of seeming myth on top of the already unspeakable genocidal evil Nazis enagaged in. Before we dive in, here are a few important pictures:

Violence Against the Non-Violent: The Essence of Statism

Statism demands the intentional, systematized application of violence against non-violent human beings. It is the not incidental, accidental, or “one-off” violence as occurs with so-called crimes of passion or the occasional psychopathic serial killer.

Statist violence is intrinsically, intentionally, and necessarily predicated on the systematized subjugation of any and all individuals whom the group of humans calling themselves “the state” deem to be within their purview of arbitrarily claimed authority. This includes, of course, things like taxation (the statist, cult euphemism for extortion), imprisonment for non-violent offenses (e.g. cannabis laws, the “drug war”), and arbitrary boundaries to control the movement of non-violent human beings (fences for the tax/labor cattle).

ALL MAJOR GOVERNMENTS DO THIS AND ALL GOVERNMENTS MUST, TO SURVIVE.

This is because the statist model for society is not based on consent and property, but violent coercion. This is why voluntaryists stand opposed to all governments. Still, it’s commonly held, even in mainstream libertarian circles, that the United States government is somehow more honorable than Germany’s infamous National Socialist party. It is my goal with this article to prove that this is not at all the case. 

I want to talk about the qualities of these groups of human individuals called “the government” in both WWII Germany and the United States, and beyond. I’ll also reference some earlier periods to help paint a fuller picture. I want to focus mainly on quality because debates on quantity, in measuring human lives stolen to justify the stealing of more in retaliation, or to show that “not enough” have been stolen for revenge to be perceived as necessary, is a fruitless pursuit. Human lives are not to be counted as beans, finally, by any moral individual. 

Similarities Between the Nazi and U.S. Governments

A brief numbered list will be the most immediate method to begin, when it comes to the United States and Nazi governments. I’ll try to flesh these out in order, but of course there is some overlap:

1. Both groups intentionally massacre(d) massive numbers of non-violent human beings.

2. Both groups broke up/break up families and sent members of these families to, and utilize(d), concentration camps.

3. Both groups engage(d) in the systematic targeting, subjugation, killing, and systematized erasure of dissenters and prejudicially defined “out-groups.”

4. Both groups engage(d) in horrific “scientific” tests on non-consenting humans which result(ed) in mass death, mental illness, and grotesque physical deformation.

5. Both groups had/have highly aggressive propaganda campaigns which lied extensively in order to make the other side look like the “most evil” boogeyman.

1. Massacre Masters

Have you ever stopped to think what makes the bombings of Dresden, Germany, and the firebombings in Japan — where U.S. Air Force general Curtis Lemay said he “scorched and boiled and baked to death more people … on that night … than went up in vapor at Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined” — socially acceptable occurrences in mainstream Western societies, while the idea of Nazi concentration camps or the bombing of Warsaw rightly appalls people? After all, Lemay’s genocide in Tokyo was aimed at the non-military “Jap lice,” as a terror campaign.

Well, the answer is simple: It’s narrative. Lemay himself acknowledged he would have been charged with war crimes if he hadn’t “won.” After all, even for those that count human lives like beans, The firebombing of Tokyo was quite unprecedented, and still is to this day. 100,000 humans destroyed in Tokyo in one night. That’s the count for normal, everyday people like you and me. Not soldiers. And many soldiers, of course, tragically died as well, on both sides.

And let’s not forget about all the non-violent Germans that perished — burned alive without mercy simply for being born in the wrong place and having the wrong cultural background — in Dresden.

What it all boils down to is propagandistic brainwash, even if one misguidedly and simple-mindedly assumes “Japan started it!” or “Germany started it!” A quick thought exercise will illustrate the mistake in taking such an approach:

If your neighbor murders someone in your neighborhood, would you be justified in attacking that neighbor’s family, and killing them — and every individual in the houses around him as well — in “self-defense”?

If the answer is “no,” then defense of the aforementioned Allied murders in WWII fails to make sense. And if you say “it’s not that simple,” then make no complaints when such actions are applied to you. I expect to see you gladly putting yourself and your children on the front lines, in front of bullets, napalm, bombs, rape, murder and destruction to prove your tired, clichéd adage that, “Hey man, war is hell.”

The image above depicts members of the Nazi Einsatzgruppen mobile killing unit murdering perceived opponent civilians. The following images from the Mizoch Ghetto executions are especially disturbing, but it is important they are seen:

Women, including pregnant women and those with small children, are stripped naked and shot in a ravine. Such Nazi executions, not counting the deaths at the camps, are said to have taken over a million lives. 

1. Concentration Camps

It depends how far one wants to go back in history which camps could be included here, and basically every single major government in the world has supported or engaged in these atrocities in some form or another, but for brevity let’s skip the genocidal massacres led by the United States government against various groups of Native Americans, and look to the occupation of the Philippines after the Spanish-American War, with the state’s “benevolent assimilation” of the people living there. Let’s also look at the Japanese concentration camps in the U.S. for American citizens and anyone with “one drop of Japanese blood in them.”

Like the Nazi concentration camps in Europe, disease ravaged the U.S. concentration camps in the Philppines, and, as usual for the groups of individuals calling themselves governments, mass executions, torture, starvation, rape, mutilation, and the destroying of families, communities, and livelihoods was done in the name of “liberating” or “protecting” the people there — of protecting them from the unwanted scourge of the boogeyman that was to be wiped out. 

A soldier from New York, in the Philippines, wrote home:

“Last night one of our boys was found shot and his stomach cut open. Immediately orders were received from General Wheaton to burn the town and kill every native in sight; which was done to a finish. About 1,000 men, women and children were reported killed. I am probably growing hard-hearted, for I am in my glory when I can sight my gun on some dark skin and pull the trigger.”

Wikipedia also notes that “the U.S. carried out reprisals and scorched earth campaigns, and forcibly relocated many civilians to concentration camps, where thousands died … The total number of Filipinos who died remains a matter of debate. Modern sources cite a figure of 200,000 total Filipino civilians dead, with most losses attributable to famine, and disease. Some estimates reach 1,000,000 (one million) dead.” 

While the concentration camps for the Japanese-Americans in the United States in World War II didn’t suffer from massive typhus epidemics and shortages caused by the ravages of war as the Jews, Roma, Poles, homosexuals, disabled, and other “enemies of the state” did in Nazi camps, dysentery was an issue in some, conditions were unsanitary and cramped, and families were broken up all the same, with children seeing parents kidnapped by the state and then being sent to camps on their own, as orphans.

1. Violent Prejudice

Statist, globalist, and other political propaganda has worked hard to get us to believe a lot of nonsensical things about other people: “A Jap is a Jap,” and can never be trusted. They must be “wiped off the map,” as one U.S. leader is reported to have publicly and openly stated. Adolf Hitler viewed Jewish individuals as a “race-tuberculosis of the peoples” and noted that the “ultimate goal must definitely be the removal of the Jews altogether.”

Abraham Lincoln, not entirely dissimilar to Hitler and SS commander Heinrich Himmler, who wished to deport Jews to lands far away, himself made plans to deport freed slaves, proclaiming: “There is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.” Lincoln said in the same speech:

“And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”

An experiment was tried in this direction, which resulted in death and chaos for the folks that went.

Interestingly, even the ostensible American hero in the fight against the genocidal violence against the Jews, FDR, had a distaste for Jews himself, and also Asians, supporting the idea to “spread the Jews thin” around the world, and also writing that “the mingling of Asiatic blood with European or American blood produces, in nine cases out of ten, the most unfortunate results.” This also makes it easier to see why he had little, if any, misgivings about sending innocent Asian-American citizens to prison camps.

As with the Nazis’ bigoted, violent views on Jewish individuals, the government in America succeeded in brainwashing many average people into believing wholeheartedly in the necessity of the extermination of Japanese as a literal enemy race. Even German-Americans were not viewed this poorly. An insightful report notes:

Even after the war, a poll conducted in December 1945 asked the public, “which of these comes closest to describing how you feel about our use of the atomic bomb?” The poll demonstrated that 22.7% of those surveyed expressed that they wished the United States had dropped “many more of them [atomic bombs] before Japan had a chance to surrender.”44 Americans’ explicit disappointment that they did not kill millions more of innocent Japanese civilians with another atomic bomb reveals that the infectious anti-Japanese sentiment persisted even after the Allied powers were victorious. The construction of the Japanese as the enemy race thus transcended the context of war and remained intact within the social fabric of the United States.

This is no difference in quality here than in wanting to destroy the “tuberculosis” that were the Jews, to Hitler’s thinking. And remember, the “breeding grounds” for the Japanese “lice” (see the propaganda image of the louse above) were to be “completely annihilated.” The U.S. government’s very own “final solution.”

1. Bizarre, Grotesque, Cruel and Deadly “Experiments” and Tests 

People rightly think of Hitler and Nazis when they think of Eugenics, forced sterilization, and cruel medical experiments, but do not realize this movement was born in California. It was directly influenced, supported, and funded by U.S. predecessors. For a deeper dive into how U.S. Eugenics advocates in powerful positions — including in the state — helped kill Jews, shape Nazi thinking, and force sterilization on those deemed unfit to breed, see here, here, and here. “There is today one state in which at least weak beginnings toward a better conception [of citizenship] are noticeable. Of course, it is not our model German Republic, but the United States.”

The U.S. has a rich history of forced sterilization. As the Los Angeles Times reports:

“ In 1909, California became the third state to pass — virtually without opposition — a forced-sterilization law. In 1913, state legislators amended the law to broaden its reach, seeking to target anyone with ‘mental disease, which may have been inherited and is likely to be transmitted to descendants.’ What followed was the most zealous eugenics campaign in America.”

In The Horrifying American Roots of Nazi Eugenics, Edwin Black notes:

“More than just providing the scientific roadmap, America funded Germany’s eugenic institutions. By 1926, Rockefeller had donated some $410,000 — almost $4 million in 21st-Century money — to hundreds of German researchers. In May 1926, Rockefeller awarded $250,000 to the German Psychiatric Institute of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute, later to become the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Psychiatry. Among the leading psychiatrists at the German Psychiatric Institute was Ernst Rüdin, who became director and eventually an architect of Hitler’s systematic medical repression.”

Further, “On May 13, 1932, the Rockefeller Foundation in New York dispatched a radiogram to its Paris office: JUNE MEETING EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS OVER THREE YEAR PERIOD TO KWG INSTITUTE ANTHROPOLOGY FOR RESEARCH ON TWINS AND EFFECTS ON LATER GENERATIONS OF SUBSTANCES TOXIC FOR GERM PLASM.”

After WWII, 1,600 Nazi leaders and “scientists, engineers, and technicians” were imported with legal immunity for their crimes and directly integrated into influential positions in the U.S. government.

1. Masters of Propaganda

The two images above show exactly what propaganda is: the creation of a superhuman boogeyman caricature. 

For example, while I DO NOT ENDORSE the bigoted views held by the creator of this website, reading through the material is intensely interesting for someone raised in the United States well after WWII. The so-called education I received never provided any other context for the situation than: HITLER BAD, USA GOOD. It is essentially the same propaganda applied to Russia’s Putin, currently, and also that which infests the “orange man bad” cult. I emphatically do not support any of these evil states or individuals, including the “orange man,” but am angry I was not given a broader picture. For example, how is this viewed as acceptable? This:

If we are engaging in the foolish act of counting precious, individual human lives like beans, Stalin could be argued to be an equivalent monster to Hitler. So how is it acceptable that Roosevelt sits laughing with him? Of course, statist hypocrisy. 

It is my position that U.S. propaganda, like Nazi propaganda, was used to shift blame for, and hide, wartime atrocities and the aforementioned Eugenics history in order to make the Nazi government appear to be the ultimate boogeyman to serve ulterior interests. The same way the Nazi party was able to brainwash masses of Germans into hating all Jewish individuals as the ultimate evil.

I am not 100% decided on all angles of this, but have many questions. What I was taught in the U.S. — that Hitler was just a Jew-hating madman who wanted to recklessly rule and destroy the whole world for no reason other than said bloody madness — does not seem accurate to me. 

I was not taught about the historical peace offers — whether they were genuine attempts or not. I was taught only the same things I was told about Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Barack Obama’s drone program, 9/11, etc. In short: U.S. GOOD, BOOGEYMAN BAD.

Just after the invasion of Poland, Hitler criticized what he viewed as a warmongering, hypocritical West in a speech:

Just imagine! There are people who say: “There are those ruling in another land who do not please us, so now we have war with them.” Naturally they do not carry on the war themselves, but look about for someone to conduct it for them. They provide cannon and grenades while others provide grenadiers and soldiers. Such an utter lack of conscience!

What would be said if one of us should say that the present regime in France or Britain does not suit us and consequently we are conducting a war? What immeasurable lack of conscience. For that, millions of persons are whipped into death. These gentlemen can say that calmly, for they themselves never have been on the battlefield for even an hour.

In the same speech, lamenting the Treaty of Versailles, Hitler says:

The world, which immediately sheds tears when Germany expels a Polish Jew who only a few decades ago came to Germany, remained dumb and deaf toward the misery of those who, numbering not thousands but millions, were forced to leave their home country on account of Versailles – that is, if these unfortunates were Germans. What was for us and also for me most depressing was the fact that we had to suffer all this from a State which was far inferior to us; for, after all, Germany is a Great Power, even though madmen believed the vital rights of a great nation could be wiped out by a crazy treaty or by dictation.

For those who may defend all the rejections by the West of the ostensible Hitlerian “peace” offers, citing the atrocities of the concentration camps, let us not forget that the United States entered the war prior to the “Final Solution” being declared, turned Jewish refugees away and sent them back to Europe to die, and that it was Allied and American interests that blocked the Red Cross from delivering food into the prison camps — which was allowed at that time by the German command — and which continued destroying infrastructure and astronomical amounts of innocent lives (e.g. Dresden) resulting in starvation and disease everywhere including those concentration camps. The U.S. also could have bombed the railway said to be delivering prisoners into Auschwitz to prevent the murder reported there, but this was not done. It also seems important to remember that 93% of Americans initially opposed involvement in WWII. The war needed to be sold, though, as all wars do.

Nuremberg

The Nuremberg trials pointed the “Aha!” finger at the Nazis. While the guilt for their atrocities indeed deserved justice — some of the charges and other elements from those unprecedented, pseudo-legal hearings (the supposedly unbiased judges were military enemies of the accused, after all) were extremely questionable, with important portions of proof being based on hearsay.

Some “confessions” were reported by government investigators to have been dictated to prisoners and elicited via torture, even as the ideological, practical, and financial driving force behind at least some of the Nazi crimes against humanity found, as discussed before, their roots in homelands of the accusers running the show. 

As U.S. General Curtis Lemay said after burning a whole city of people alive, melting their skin from their bones and charring them with napalm:

“I suppose if I had lost the war, I would have been tried as a war criminal.”

Judge Edward L. Van Roden, who had been assigned by the Secretary of the Army to investigate abuses at the U.S. Dachau trial noted:

The American prohibition of hear-say evidence had been suspended. Second and third-hand testimony was admitted, although the Judge Advocate General warned against the value of hearsay evidence, especially when it was obtained, as this was, two or three years after the act. Lt. Col. Ellis and Lt Perl of the Prosecution pleaded that it was difficult to obtain competent evidence. Perl told the court, “We had a tough case to crack and we had to use persuasive methods.” He admitted to the court that the persuasive methods included various “expedients, including some violence and mock trials.” He further told the court that the cases rested on statements obtained by such methods.

The Nazis became the focal point for the onlooking masses, while important Nazi leaders would then, just a little later, migrate to Washington D.C. for new work. Things like the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment and MK ULTRA now begin to make more sense.

Looking at the Appendix of the U.S. Congressional Record from 1949 (excerpts of which are pictured above) one finds that members of the U.S. government, and others, had big problems with the atrocities of the U.S. being overlooked in favor of questionable confessions whose elicitations included getting to the so-called truth by making sure Germans “had been kicked in the testicles beyond repair.” Read here from the Lawrence Smith section.

Germans “likely innocent” were hanged after their sentences were said to be commuted. One is reported to have hanged himself after saying he was tired of lying. Read here from page 1365 for details on the torture, unreliable evidence, and other critical problems reported from the trial.

Questionable Claims About Mass Gassing Operations

Regarding the Dachau camp gas chamber narrative, there are some interesting issues. The film “Nazi Concentration and Prison Camps,” shown at the Nuremberg trials as evidence, claims that ostensible de-lousing chambers for clothing were where prisoners at Dachau “had been suffocated in a lethal gas chamber” (watch the vid here from 45:08). The issue is that these were four clearly marked fumigation rooms, as disinfestation was part of the typical protocol (even according to survivors — start this video at 8:06) upon entering camps.

They were not the disguised showers we hear about. As mentioned previously, body lice and typhus were a life-threatening problem at the time. The issue arises as one now examines the official story of the museum at Dachau and the photos at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) website:

The above screenshot from the USHMM website notes that “there is no credible evidence that the gas chamber in Barrack X [at Dachau] was used to murder human beings.” An image from the Dachau museum itself shows a sign saying: “never used as a gas chamber” (see image directly below).

Further, pictures shown by the USHMM depict two completely different rooms as “the” gas chamber which according to Nuremberg evidence was used to kill Jews and according to USHMM and the museum, never was.

There are four de-lousing chambers to fumigate clothing to kill typhus-carrying lice, and another room in another location, marked “BRAUSEBAD,” or “shower.” This room was, according to official narratives, going to be used as a gas chamber but never was. But on the USHMM website, both this room and the 4 de-lousing chambers clearly marked with “Caution! Gas!” and a skull and crossbones, are listed as “the” gas chamber, which was supposed to be a fake shower to trick people into entering and where they were “annihilated” but also…not. It would not be much of a trick if there is a giant warning label on the door.

As it is mainstream knowledge German SS officer Rudolph Höss was tortured to elicit confession about gas chambers, with his family claiming his children were threatened and beaten, is it possible the confession could have been false? Höss himself said:

“During the first interrogation they beat me to obtain evidence. I do not know what was in the transcript, or what I said, even though I signed it, because they gave me liquor and beat me with a whip. It was too much even for me to bear. The whip was my own. By chance it had found its way into my wife’s luggage. My horse had hardly ever been touched by it, much less the prisoners. Somehow one of the interrogators probably thought that I had used it to constantly whip the prisoners.”

So who is telling the truth? Who is lying? Or who is honestly mistaken? What details have been lost? Once one begins to examine these things there are innumerable contradictions, inconsistencies, and logistical issues with the story I was taught in United States public school regarding the mass extermination via gassing narrative.

Even with the larger, more infamous death camps like Auschwitz, where one finds a recreational soccer field in plain view — right next door — of the horribly designed gas chambers and crematory — which gas chamber is unsurprisingly just marked “morgue” on Nazi blueprints — there are glaring problems. Somehow nobody noticed 2,000 people at a time disappearing into the ground down there, and never challenged the Jewish capos who were said to cram that mass of people in a physically impossible feat into the space. Not to mention the impossibility of cremating the number of bodies that official sources claim were burned and disposed of in one day. 

Examining the meeting where the “Final Solution” was said to be decided on by Nazi leaders, one sees plans to deport Jews by train out of the country. Like Abe Lincoln was planning to do with blacks, and like FDR wished to do by “spreading them thin.” This is supposedly code for gassing them all, as no direct orders exist. However, audio of Heinrich Himmler’s Poznan Speech exists, and though interpretations are debated, it is undeniably clear that Jews were to be targeted for a basically merciless and all-encompassing removal. This of course also involved brutal, mass killings. 

Well, I just want to know the truth. I could go on about the inconsistencies. About pictures of prisoners at the camps not suffering from typhus and starvation and even smiling as in some Japanese-American prison camp pictures from the U.S., survivor accounts of playing soccer on Sundays at the soccer field, with whole leagues including Nazi officers playing, orchestras, cantinas, and plays written by children from a nursery in Auschwitz, are ignored. Survivors laughing and smiling recollecting Auschwitz in video interviews from the 90s. Such stories don’t seem to fit with the narrative the government in America sells. Not even all Jewish individuals believe it. Some say it’s a hoax and that Nuremberg was a “victor’s court” with an arbitrary number of Jewish people killed decided upon there. The numbers, indeed, have strangely changed over time in multiple records, being drastically adjusted downward at Auschwitz and elsewhere. But now I am becoming one of those goddamned bean counters.

Conclusion

If you’ve read this far, I commend you. To close this exploration which will probably lose me followers, I circle back to the U.S. congressional record, where representative Lawrence H. Smith quotes a book review of Montgomery Belgion’s Victor’s Justice. The reviewer notes:

The Russians had certainly been guilty in Poland, the Ukraine, and the Baltic States, of mass deportations upon an even greater scale than was attempted anywhere by the Germans; the advance of the Russian armies had invariably been accompanied by wholesale killings and rapings and by systematic pillage; indeed such crimes were being repeated in the Russian zone of Germany while the Nuremberg trials were in progress … The uprooting and evictions of whole populations at the cost of incalculable suffering were taking place in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and East Prussia with the encouragement or complacent approval of the powers which at Nuremberg were trying the Nazis for similar crimes. 

…and the crime of wantonly destroying villages like Lidice and cities like Belgrade and Warsaw had counterparts in the saturation bombings of Hamburg and other German cities and in the experimental bombardments of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Thus, point by point, Mr. Belgion demolishes the whole elaborate case established by Mr. Justice Jackson and his collaborators.

And as he does so, it becomes clear that the moral difference between ourselves and the Nazis is at best one of degree rather than of kind.
